Color issues?

I just got this through christmas and my friend got a 22" same exact model and his has higher resolutions and it looks better, mine looks like crap:

the darks are mssed up, its too dark with no light tone.. i dont get it.. resolution is on 1440x900 with setting jacked up.

A graphics card screenshot won't show us what your monitor looks like. Does your friend have the Samsung 225BW?

no the 941bw it displays 1 higher resolution then mine tho 1440x1050 would that make the difference? i also noticed my text is real small and king of pixely.. it looks great on movies and other stuff.

His displays on 1680x1050.
It might make a difference. If you don't like the way the text looks there's always Clear Type.

And that screenshot isn't gonna tell us anything.
You would need an actual picture of the monitor.

here are some pics, not the greatest but some representation.. his screen looked more backlighted and pale and would show darks better.. we have the same monitor just different sizes and his seems almost 10x better.

It's probably just a difference of panel, that's all. Some ship with poor uniformity and others are great. It's unfortunate but that's the way it is.
