I wouldn't be making a big deal about this if happened to me. It takes no time at all to get an estimate so just do it after work one day and have the guy meet you there. This isn't complicated. Where I live if you call the cops over something stupid like this they can write you a ticket unless someone is hurt or property other than your car was damaged.

409 - Damage not found.

You two must be blind to not see the bumper bent down at an odd angle. I can see it clear as day tho. Damage like this is pretty pricey, new bumper mounts, plus all the parts under the outside can add up to thousands to make it back to before accident condition.

No....I stated that back in previous posts. They don't come to "fender bender" accidents unless someone is hurt.....

I wouldn't fix it. I love my Cherokee too, but mine looks much worse than that from driving it offroad. Consider it an aging mark, and keep on going. You're at 75% of it's life, it just isn't worth it.

Call your insurance and file the claim so they can deal with it. This is what you pay them for.

Do not "take care of this outside insurance." Do not collect $200. Go directly to your insurance phone number. ;)

Seriously, no one wants to settle outside insurance unless they are PLANNING on scamming you. It would cost them WAY more to pay for your repairs than the increase on their insurance rates. There's no logical reason for them to do this unless they are planning on not paying you.

Go through your insurance. They're there for a reason. If the guy wants to pay and not have the premiums go up on his insurance, then he can pay your insurance company.

It's not worth the time off work and hassle for you to do the guy a favour.

Why is it always a female that ends up rear ending someone I know? The last 4 incidents, all within the last month (including one involving myself) have all been female drivers at fault.

There's actually an issue with cherokees with rear end damage. The leaf springs attach to parts of the unibody far back and far forward. A bend in that part of the unibody can cause the suspension to do weird things. If the damage is completely behind the attachment for the rear springs you're in the clear but if there is a bend or kink in the frame between the front and rear mount you've got an issue.

I looked at one a while ago when I was shopping for jeeps that looked ok but when you drove it the whole rear end would creak and clunk.
