I have to agree, I was hoping that Saddam would simply go into exile and Iraq would fess up, I I still WISH that would take place, but, after Powells speech, I'm not against going in to take care of the problem and I predict there will be no problem in the Security Council getting approval.

Well the proof was given, and it was pretty damning. Of course I realize some of it was exaggerated, if even just a few things turn out to be true- I say we have no choice but to remove Saddam and his regime.
Now- how we go about removing him is another issue.

he pays the family of every palestinian killed, not just suicide bombers. Would be the same as to associate the UN for supporting Palestinian suicide bombers because the UN runs alot of schools in the area.Originally posted by: bentwookie

You know they took a great risk of exposure of their spy capabilities..he mentioned one defectore is in hiding...but you should trust the government in this situation. Saddam has paid palestinian suicide bombers $20,000 a suicide...who's to say he won't give them anthrax next.
Unfortunate it takes a "see it, to believe it" attitude from the public to accept the decision of a government trying to stabalize peace in the world.

It seems to me he was just piecing together scraps of evidence with no real smoking gun. I don't understand the urgency to go to war, it is VERY unlikely that Sadaam will attack anyone while under inspections, so if the US really wants to make a case, it needs to be upfront with it's intelligence and let the inspectors inspect the sites in question to try to find more hard evidence. Otherwise, simply attacking Sadaam will just inflame the situation and would seem like there are alt. motives.

Holy sh*t on a stick........Russia and China ARE AMAZING!!!! They are using prepared rebutals. Basically meaning they made up their mind beforehand. The same is true with Britain but I expected people that disagreed with us to at least put something worthwhile forward.

Powell said before hand that he wouldn't produce a smoking gun. And just using US intel to tell the inspectors where to go won't work because Powell even said they believe they've only found the tip of the ice berg and w/o Iraqi assistance they'll probably never find all the weapons and all the production facilities. And the Iraq's are certainly not going to help because they know that there is no consiquience<sp?> for lieing and dragging their feet. We've already seen how far idle threats will get you nowhere w/Iraq.

they will probably want to inspect the evidence themselves
