I'm glad that you see freeing 23 million people as irrelevant nonsense. Kind of broadens my understanding of you, doesn't it.

In this context, yes, I do. This topic has nothing to do with Iraq. Your post is a total non sequitur - I might as well say "I'm glad you see our traveling to the moon as irrelevant nonsense," or say the same thing about Nazi Germany, the Crusades, or the Civil Rights Movement.

Here's a clue for Tiffany:

Despite what you've been led to believe, the government doesn't owe you an education.

I'm personally of the opinion that not everyone should go to college, & that the over-education of the population is a bad thing (particularly education on credit).

If people want an education so bad & can't qualify for private loans they can work while they go to school.

Yeah... cause working while doing 80 hours/week in medical school is a great way to make $50-60k/year necessary to pay tuition and survive.

Do you read the newspaper? What was the headline on page 2 from that date? Any newspaper is fine.

I think there's a slight difference in a random headline from a newspaper and a major piece of legislation affecting students across the nation.
What makes this legislation more major than any other piece of legislation he might have signed on Dec. 20th or 22nd?

If anything, $12.7 billion is rather minor to the feds.

Because the GOP was bragging about it as their "major" attempt at what amounts to laughable attempts at fiscal responsibility.

Do you even remember what we're talking about here? This was a HUGE bill.

when you need to cover your ass on disgusting tax cuts for the rich, this education "reform" DOES work better (for the rich)..... it allows poor college kids to pay for their tax cuts.

amen!

OP STFU

I'm surprised Tiffany even got to ask her question. Every other audience question during that Q&A session was as "pre-screened" as all of Bush's public appearances.
