College kicks ass!

IIRC, a T1 is 1.5MB/s up and down, right? Hardly worth $400/mo. But, it's the LEVEL of service you're paying for. 99.99% guaranteed uptime, blah, blah.

But yeah, your download speeds kicks ass. I have a 512KB/s DSL connection and top out at a positively BLAZING 42KB/s DL on a good day.

looks like I'm not as special as I thought, but 18mb is definitely a step up from 1mb cable back home 🙂
 
Just wait til everyone moves in and are downloading all of their mp3s that pipe will be down to a crawl soon enough. Now if you dorm during the summer, you will be amazed at what you can download at.

damn. when i went to college only the CS floors (and only a few floors that was) had connections. sigh.

now every fricken room has it. i went to college in teh wrong decade sigh

not worth it, if you are living in a dorm you are blocked from doing anything.

I still prefer to live at home with the rents instead of a dorm.

same here, but in the research labs, the packet shaper isnt on so I get a full 30/10.

Comcast 6mbps isnt too bad here either. I get 24499kbps dn and 360kbps up according to speedtest. This is comcast with probably some power boost thing.
