ours (U. of Ala.) is really sketchy....sometimes u can get 13mbs d/l, but other times it won't works at all. 4500 ping is not good. too many pervs lookin at the pR0n.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but bragging about who can get a bigger number to show up at the bottom of a webpage seems pretty lame to me.
 
Speedtest
MIT wins. I think we have an oc-12 backbone here (600+mbit)
I'm working in one of the newer buildings so we probably have gigabit ethernet connecting us to it. My dorm only has 100mbit which actually hampers the speed a bit
 
shens. neither bittorant or any file sharing program works at my university. good thing i have cable at the apartment.
 
I'll have to try to remember to run this speed test in September when I'm back on campus.

Talk about killing filesharing....they don't allow any of it on our campus network. If they find you using the popular filesharing programs, they can turn off the network in your dorm/apartment room. That, and the 1.5GB/week upload and download (each) limit for each network jack - well, the Internet's just not as much fun there. Penn State University, Erie campus.
