He can just name any foreign leaders at random... shouldn't be very hard.

Pretty much all (except maybe Tony Blair) will take anybody over Bush.

"I don't know what foreign leaders Senator Kerry is talking about. It's an easy charge, an easy assertion to make. But if he feels it is that important an assertion to make, he ought to list some names," Powell said. "If he can't list names, then perhaps he should find something else to talk about."

Seems like Powell isn't going to let kerry get away with this...:p

Great question Mr Powell, want to know how many horses my souped up mustang has also? Even with support from foreign leaders, Kerry has never accepted their enthusiastic remark, nor made a comment that it's a sign that he is, what the world wants as america's prez.

( I guess Powell just wanted his name in the new's again)

Maybe Kerry should show Powell a satellite photo of him and a foreign leader talking. ;)

Oh, and circle it in red.

"No leader would obviously share a conversation if I started listing them," Kerry told reporters after Secretary of State Colin Powell (news - web sites) suggested he name some names or stop implying foreign leaders were encouraging him to beat Bush.

Sounds about right.

Pass? If Kerry says Mr X hopes Kerry wins, and then Kerry doesn't, wouldn't that put unnecessary strain on any relationship between Bush and Mr X?

Then he should refrain from such remarks - no?

Why?

Might it not strain current talks with any "suspected" Mr.X?

Doesn't sound like kerry was thinking when he said what he did. Doesn't sound too "Presidential";)

"You know, it is a political year. We are seeing a campaign unfold," Powell said.
==================

Well that is refreshing. Powell clues us in here that he's lying.

Does he have to get UN approval to name names? ;)

:D

UN Approval?! We're America - we don't need no stinkin' UN approval! :)

How about Powell show us the WMD trucks he had in those slides for the UN? I guess he doesn't care to back his own BS up, but no suprises here, another GOP hypocrite.

Damn straight, looks like Kerry just doesn't have what it takes. He'd have to at least fabricate something to back up his assertions for them to qualify as presidential by today's standards.

Please show quote where Al Gore says "I invented the internet."

During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet.

According to Webster's dictionary:

Inflected Form(s): cre·at·ed; cre·at·ing
Etymology: Middle English, from Latin creatus, past participle of creare; akin to Latin crescere to grow -- more at CRESCENT
transitive senses
1 : to bring into existence <God created the heaven and the earth -- Gen 1:1 (Authorized Version)
2 a : to invest with a new form, office, or rank <was created a lieutenant> b : to produce or bring about by a course of action or behavior <her arrival created a terrible fuss> <create new jobs>
3 : CAUSE, OCCASION <famine creates high food prices>
4 a : to produce through imaginative skill <create a painting> b : DESIGN <creates dresses>

Main Entry: in·vent
Pronunciation: in-'vent
Function: transitive verb
Etymology: Middle English, from Latin inventus, past participle of invenire to come upon, find, from in- + venire to come -- more at COME
1 archaic : FIND, DISCOVER
2 : to devise by thinking : FABRICATE
3 : to produce (as something useful) for the first time through the use of the imagination or of ingenious thinking and experiment

invent, create, Gore didn't do either one when it comes to the Internet. he supported legislation to fund expansion of the internet backbone, but he didn't create or invent it.

words have meanings. what Gore said has a meaning. what he said was wrong.

go ahead and argue all you want that Gore never said he invented the internet. he said he created it.
and when it's all said and done, what i have said about Gore is closer to the truth than what Gore said about himself.

*crickets*

From http://quote.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000087&sid=a1HtS16AuAHY&refer=top_world_news

Powell said the threat that Iraq might produce such arms and give them to terrorists was ended by Hussein's ouster and the emergence of a democratic Iraqi government. He said the U.S. and its allies expected to find weapons once they got in Iraq.

``I was surprised because we thought there would be stockpiles,'' Powell said. ``I don't think that takes away'' from the justification of removing Hussein.

I'm sure Bush will hand Powell a few more scripted speeches. Esp. after he put the smackdown on Rumsfeld and Powell to keep quiet during the campaign.
