Tis all in the business plan...if you can't raise the price, then you shrink the package contents. They all figure that people are too stupid to notice.

We don't have that up north.

I'm up north (NY) and we've had 3 liter bottles for many years. 1.5 liter? What's up with that?

By the way, has anyone seen those mini-cans of soda? I remember seeing (8oz?) cans sold by the six-pack. Ironically, they cost more than a regular 6-pack of 12 oz cans. They must be marketing to people who don't want to waste anything (except their money)

This man is correct. It is ALL Coke. The South invented Coke, so either deal with it or shut up!
:p

/me slaps Rossman back into reality.[/quote]You're right.

Some nice spicy fried chicken, sweet tea, mashed potatoes and gravy, black eyed peas, and sweet cornbread.

Maybe a nice oyster and crab meat po-boy with a Barq's....

It's good to be home!

Aren't they 8oz? I know someone who always buys those, saying that it's less for their kids to waste, since they always drink a few sips out of thier cans and leave them on the counter to go bad. I tried to explain once that 12oz cans cost the same or less, so what difference does it make if any is wasted (and if they ever want more than 8oz, they'd have it)? They didn't see it.

Seems I don't see 3L bottles as much here in TN as I used to.

If you're in Nashville or Memphis, try Neely's BBQ. I also like Corky's BBQ and Center Point BBQ. :) Yum.

Any of your northern's have Sun Drop up there?

You weren't born in the south?
Well, I was, but I'm not like many other southerners. That's why I say I'm not a "true southerner". I don't call all soda "coke", and I don't like BBQ.

It's not all soft drinks just the coke like ones RC,Pepsi and the like because you always want a coke but sometimes you have to settle the lesser product. I won't even comment on not liking BBQ that's just not right period.

must be your area only

we still have 2L bottles in NJ

The Shop-Rite in Hillsborough, NJ has nothing but 1.5 L bottles (selling at the price of a 2L bottle), but that's the only place I've seen them so far.

It has something to do with how long the carbonation lasts; the bigger the bottle, the faster it goes flat.

"We also have a real problem with soft drinks, which Americans consume more of than water. Face it, Cokes are liquid candy and they?re designed especially to make you more thirsty. Add a little caffeine to get you addicted and help dehydrate you, and you have legal crack. Okay, we?re exaggerating just a bit, but we think excessive intake of soft drinks is in the same class as cigarettes when it comes to the destruction of your health and physique. Soda is the epitome of the empty calorie and void of anything your body needs. Okay, rant over."

No, metric is just a good scale for these kinds of things; a gallon is too big, and a half-gallon sounds too small. Call it a couple of liters however, and everyone's happy.:p

All of the larger soda bottles in Japan are 1.5L.
