Hmm no crash here on my side.

Running 1900x1200, Extra settings, 16x AA, full rest. Silky smooth in SP. MP has some stuttering here and there. Not too noticable. Half the time is lag on the other person's side, other half is stutter.

Im actually very happy with my purchase so far compared to the crap fest that was MW2.

Well what I was looking for in the patch was no crashing then better performance. The patch notes mentioned better performance but nothing about fixing crashes.

you're the first person i heard complain about crashing. just about everyone is complaining about stuttering in MP, but not crashing. perhaps there's something wrong with your rig.

Ugh lots of hackers tonight. Not particularly good but obvious when they lock onto your head just before you turn the corner. But it is fucking nice to just change the.server.compared to before.

Yeah there was a number of threads on the Steam forums about crashing problems but not much lately. Pretty much everything now is with lag or slow performance and whether the patch helped.

I'm always one to defend PC games as I can't remember the last time I had a game that failed to play fine. People talk about updating drivers being a pain but I pretty much never have update drivers and never have a single issue.

It's just the fact that I have updated my Catalyst drivers (my chipset and sound drivers are still the latest), tried various tips I read on the forum, and set my CPU to stock that it seems like I don't have much else to do.

I really hope it's something that gets fixed, but I don't know the reason for the crash. The last bluescreen indicated something about a problem with one of the ATI graphics DLLs.

I'm sure eventually I'll get to play it (though even if it worked now the performance is really bad 🙁). If not, maybe in 6 months I may have a new rig that for whatever reason plays it fine, but I'd much rather have bought the game then instead of on release for $65 after tax!

Be happy. I can't tell you how many kills I missed because my game decided to stutter at that instant I was about to shoot.

So yea, most of the time when I mess up, it's because of that damned lag.

Yeah I stopped playing because I am constantly either missing kills, or being killed due to the stutter. Plus the stutter gets worse and worse as the game goes on. I haven't played since the patch came out. Guess I'll try it again tonight...

i was playing last night and the game locked up at exactly midnight. Killed the process, stupid Steam store popup came up (that used to crash MW2 for me as well) but there was also a SP patch that came out. Whatever the hell they patched made the game 100% more playable for me, in both SP and MP!

Yeah there was definitely more than a netcode issue going on, since the game was unplayable for me even in SP. I hope I have as good of luck as you Joe. I would like to spend some time this weekend leveling, and unlocking stuff.

I had no issues in either MP or SP..
CPU usuage low 40s-60s in game
Both GPUs working pulling 100+ smooth FPS

the only time it is laggy it seems is the very first 30 seconds of the map and last kill cam..

hit level 18 last night finally configured a custom class.

I tried again last night after the patch. Still crashing whether my cpu is overclocked or not. I tried it in a window, 1600x900. It plays fine when it plays, it just crashes. I could see my cpu pegged at 90-100% and my gpu not getting stressed very much. AA is off and textures are set to normal.

I'll try it once or twice but after the crashes I pretty much give up. Even with the issues, I am rank 10 right now.

MW1/2 works fine with my rig, e8400@3.6, 8800gts 512, 4gb ram. Don't see why this one is crashing every time.

I just tried 10 minutes of free for all over my lunch break, and at least for me it seems things have improved quite dramatically. I was able to turn the textures up to high, and turn shadows on. I'm now getting a pretty steady 50-60 FPS, where I was only getting 25-40 before, even on the lowest settings. There is still some stutter, probably every 15 seconds or so, but no where near as bad or game destroying as it was before. Hopefully they will release another patch soon and address the remaining issues. Is anyone else having trouble joining servers? I have to click the join button about 60 times before it finally connects.

Tried it with the patch and it didn't help with the stuttering. This is with an i7 950 and GTX480. The frame rates usually stay above 60(unless it's stuttering), but the stuttering completely throws my aiming off. And Dpodblood, I noticed the same thing about clicking the join button. I'm going to be busy in the next few weeks, so hopefully when I get back to it it'll be fixed. Btw, I thought the graphics were really good for the most part, although there are some ugly textures here and there.

Just curious how you can tell if someone is hacking with how bad the kill cam lags?

I've been getting accused a ton because when you aim fast and the killcam studders it looks like autoswitching. Pretty stupid that it's like this.

Have you guys all turned on multi cpu rendering?

R_multi something. Change it to 1. Default is 0.

left all settings in the INI to default.

I have watched the windows 7 performance monitor though and all cores/threads are being utilized

same with EVGA Precision tool both cards are working for sure.

With the dedicated servers I expect hackers will be caught and banned much more frequently than in MW2. At least that's my hope.

nothing more annoying than the 0.00001% of the guys who don't experience the stuttering bragging about it.

they deserve a cookie for having such awesome internet connection!

I didnt come in here to brag.. Sorry if it sounds that way. It just seems like EVERYONE online is bitching about performance. Yet, if you talk to people in game most people seem to have no problem..

Every game I have gone into people have complained about lag and stutter. I guess our experiences are polar opposites, but the issues are definitely very prevalent.

when they constantly lock onto my head before they can even see me. I wouldn't call it if its only once butconstantly? Those are the less obvious ones. Then there are the ones who run around like choppers spinning and headshotting people. I played competitive cs for years. I can tell when they do. I'm not just telling hacks if they are just good.

Wow. holy !@#$ing shit. It's not as bad as Fallout: New Vegas, but there are SEVERE STUTTERING ISSUES in both MP and SP.

I received my COD: BO in the mail yesterday, and with the day off being veterans day, spent a good 4 hours playing the SP and about 2 playing the MP so far.

I have an E8400 OC'd to 3.8ghz, 6gb of slow ram, and a 1GB 4870. Running 1920 x 1200, most settings on high (not extra high), AA and AF fairly low. Shadows off. I tried vsync both on and off.

For the most part, I never get below 40 fps, usually around 60, and sometimes up to 80-90 depending on the map and where I'm looking. Performance is fine playing the game, but there are RANDOM stutters in both the single and multiplayer that just make you think "what the f**k"

It's not internet latency, and I doubt it's my system performance considering how common the stuttering issues are.

Also, it might just be me, but I thought the graphics were not as good as MW2.

I can't even get into the game. Plays the cutscenes flawlessly...sometimes/crashes before I get into game/in the middle of the cutscene/before I even get into the main menu. I've tried all different settings/windowed mode. Tried updating my video drivers.... etc...kinda stumped. I dual boot XP and Win7 so I tried it on both OS's, same problem. I'm downloading from Steam btw

AMD Phenom II X4 955
4GB DDR3
XFX 5770

Ugh wtf. Patch made the stuttering worse playing on my laptop. It was perfectly fine yesterday at High - Extra settings with 2xAA, now I put medium settings with no AA and its laggy.

Have not tested on my main comp yet.

Am I the only one who LOL's when I see COD:BO with the disgusted emote in the middle? I think it's pretty suitable. 😛
