I have an issue where 50% of the MP games I join I dont get into after everything is loaded. Half of that it looks like no one got in but the other half the game is going. It happens on the same maps too.

This game brings a huge amount of new content and mechanics to the table while still retaining the important core CoD mechanics. The air dashes and double jumping completely changes the movement of the series. It's about as far from CoD as you can be while still calling it CoD. Some CoD purists are even saying it is too different.

I have played all of the hardcore PC fps games of the past decade and a half to an extremely extensive degree and *gasp* I still think the CoD games are excellent competitive shooters.

The hate the vocal minority spouts really is unqualified nonsense. They are multiplayer games of skill, the point of a new release is not to change things up so much that it isn't the same kind of game at all, it is to polish and improve the same game(which they have been very good about for the most part). CoD is more in line with persistent games like League of Legends, Starcraft 2, and Counter Strike.

tl;dr: Don't expect a new Call of Duty to not be Call of Duty. If you don't like Call of Duty then a new version of Call of Duty is probably not something you will like. Nothing says "I'm an idiot" and "my opinion has absolutely no value whatsoever" more than people bashing something they don't understand only because it is popular.

Another excellent console port. If you select a widescreen resolution (non 16:9) it just stretches the image to fit the screen.

all the shadow and shader cache options seem odd, Crysis 3 doesnt even have options like that and Crysis 3 pushes twice as many graphics as Advanced Warfare.

Playing campaign now
1. load times .. what the actual f.
2. character detail, main characters, yes, stunning, off characters/extras is even worse than gta/saints row
3. the double tab == rocket jump when moving about is gonna get some getting used to.
4. first scene with kevin spacey .. see reference to early gta games.
5. second scene with kevin spacey and second set of main chars, awsome
6. story so far, awsome, immersion, very good.

(they should have bought hair and skin api/ip from tombraider)

I like it so far 🙂

edit : and fix the god damned eyes ...

you would think that that is something the consoles would have to deal with as well... Oh well, the master race is a diverse race 🙂

That probably has more to do with not wanting anyone to have a wider viewing area for fairness reasons in multiplayer than quality of the port. At least they gave the pc FOV adjustment right out of the gate this time rather than waiting months to fix it, then retro banning people who were using the FOV changer.

I just got done playing in window mode while watching the Resource Monitor. My CPU is pegged 100% into the game for a couple minutes then it settles to about 60-90% occasionally hits 100% Its a Phenom 2 4 core at 3.7. This game is too hard on this old cpu. But it only seems to do this on bigger maps, the smaller maps my cpu can handle

i thought it was my ram but no I have 8gig in this machine and while playing i still have slightly over 2gig free and available.

I am thinking on getting the FX6350... not many options with my MB.

I'm talking about single player though. BF4 extends the aspect ratio properly in the single player campaign if your aspect ratio is a little off from 16:9.

I would like to know if this game is maxing out(100%) 8 core FX cpu's on the big maps in the beginning or at anytime in menu or during game/loading.

so much lag in the menus even, especially when the game is just started running

the game is pretty buggy/in need of some code tune up for sure

makes me wonder how much Activision really does butter up the press, because all the PC reviews pointed to this game as practically the second coming of first person shooters

and then youve got totalbiscuit who thinks a game is a good port if his i7 + Titan rig can hit 60fps, when in reality a game like AW should be running at 200fps on his rig

it all reeks of corporate spending

Wait, you're playing this on a non-SSD? Can't compare load times for you, but I get in a match in under 15 seconds - I do sometimes get issues with sync problems but that's pretty rare. Have you bothered to contact Sledgehammer about your problems?

COD games are weird with lag, till i jumped on my i7 this year Black Ops 1 usually had a bit of menu lag with anything 4 core.Even the start of a match still has a bit of lag for about a minute while 4 threads max out too 100% before you even spawn.....no such issue with my i7. You jump in and about a minute later anything from a i3 2100 to a i7 3770 play with a capped 91fps but the 4 thread chips just have this lag for a min.

Crazy this issue still carries over 4 years later in a 2014 title, people diss the hell out of COD for its use of the same engine but it seems they still have issues going back to even 2010 which is pretty pitiful.
