Terrorism didnt' start with Bush's presidency. The USA has been pissing the rest of the world off since the end of WWII. Terrorists weren't going to suddenly 'play nice' if Kerry had been elected.

It still amazes me that Bush and Kerry are the best candidates this country has to offer.

They're not, that's why they were running. Ironically the people who're best fit for the job probably least desire it. Power tends to attract the corruptible.

I find it comical how in nearly everyone's mind, the whole "terrorist threats" didn't start until after 9/11.

Wake up people, this has been a problem for many, many years in that part of the world (who do you think assassinated Sadat in '81?). You can either continue sticking your head in the sand and ignore everything or realize that it is an issue that at one point or another needs to be dealt with. It is neither fun, nor easy, but necessary. You can't expect to change the world in 4 years either..this is something that will take a generation or more.

This election wasn't about terrorism and safety though.

It was about communism vs. capitolism, collectivism vs. individualism, and "and a party which will register dead people and illegal aliens to vote, against one which won't"

Iraq can't possibly be much worse ... it's not worth yielding the political and economic future of this country in a panic to make Iraq better.

But at least those WMDs in Iraq won't be hitting your town anytime soon.

Serious as in turning the place into a new parking lot, or serious in sense of being victimized by guerilla warfare for another 2 years?

Serious now that they know they won't have to worry about being issued Nerf bullets.

The Nerf bullets matched so well with the Nerf armor on their Humvees though.

Personal gains? You mean all the money I make off this lovely country? No way, I'm keeping it. Hell, your tax dollars paid for my entire education in FULL. How about them apples? :D

I'll wait to run north until the draft is confirmed though. Either that or I'll join the university for a couple more years...on your money, no less. More schooling can't hurt...and it'll hurt a lot less than a roadside bomb.

To each their own, but this country doesn't work that way. Being that Americans like me will defend their way of living with bloodshed, it's probably a good move for your to leave and make something of that 'education' before you end up on the bad side of scope. Do as you will; the problem is when people like you try to enforce your ideologies onto others. This is the same problem in Iraq as well. If they don't want democracy, they aren't going to get it, ever. If you think America will turn communist, alot of people are going to die, and I think most of them will be in the back running to Mexico and Canada.

As far as the money, I don't care. American's are more generous than people give them credit for, but every now and then corrupt individuals as yourself take advantage and then bite the hand that feeds them.

jpeyton, thank you for being an excellent example of perhaps the biggest problem in this country today. Selfishness.

What a sad, pathetic day for Americans. Kerry has conceded; Bush is President once more.

what a great day, instead of dragging this out like gore did, kerry has done the right thing and the rightful man is president once again. not only did he win by electoral votes, he won by a huge margin in the popular vote. i guess that says something about what this country really wants.
You're right, the majority of Americans want to watch NASCAR, listen to country music, and have someone with a supposed Bible thumping ability in office. Intelligence and competency play second fiddle to these ideals.

that's amusing. i don't watch nascar listen to country music or go to church and thump bibles yet i voted for bush. what i don't want is someone who has no values or morals. i don't see anyone electing you president, so i'd keep my mouth shut about being intelligent or competent.
Kerry didn't show anybody anything morally, like I said, Sammy Sosa pointing to the heavens is of higher moral fiber than Kerry. Most people would rather see a harmless imbecile running the country as opposed to a guy who has the charisma of a centipede. BTW, it's well known, even among people who voted for Bush, that Kerry is of a higher intellect who didn't play the Bible card well enough. If Kerry had been a born again priest who watched NASCAR, and promoted prochoice w/ exceptions he would have won in a landslide. If you honestly think that Bush is more intelligent than Kerry, then you have been living in a cave for the past 4 years.

i think kerry had a solid stance on ANYTHING he might have done better. a person's inability to give a speech doesn't mean they are unintelligent. the man did earn a degree for yale and an mba from harvard, i'm pretty sure they don't hand those out to just anyone.
Yes, when you're rich and your family is connected anything is possible. How Bush didn't drop out from Harvard after sniffing with the frat boys is a miracle in itself... but yes Kerry didn't wow anyone, most people voted for him out of disgust for Bush.

Yea, like Kerry is poor. Don't hate Bush because he came from a wealthy family. I don't see why you Democrats are becoming such sore losers anyway. It's pathetic, whatever happened to being a good sport about things, or acknowledging the winner and admitting defeat. Thank god John Kerry isn't a pussy like you guys whining about Bush's win.

It seems that all exdeath can do is threaten me with the fact that he owns a gun and he's not afraid to use it. Is that all you guys in the Bible Belt have over us on the coasts, your guns? I realize that you secede things like college educations and high-paying jobs for Sunday services and a 12 hour shift assembling tool sheds at the factory.

What's funnier is that you even admit that when people enforce their ideologies onto others, problems start. Yet that is exactly what we're doing in Iraq; enforcing our ideologies of government onto them, in a war that has no credibility whatsoever. Yet you support the administration that is done so.

exdeath, what you fail to grasp is that I'm not afraid of gun-toting rednecks. I'm not afraid of this administration. I look forward to the follies America faces as a result of their judgement this election year.

Yeah, almost makes me sad...

Kerrys last speech admiting it was the vote of the people almost makes me wish he wasnt such a socialist liberal; thats the kind of 'tell it like it is' attitude I vote for.

Hope its not a ploy to solicit sympathy for democrats in '08 though ...

I hope your college funding gets pulled as a result of Bush getting elected, to bad THAT isn't going to happen, eh?

Hahaha.

Anyone that has seen my posts before know that I am absolutely 100% opposed to religion of any form.
And I pay more in taxes a month than you make, *without* the 2 engineering degrees I am working on at the moment; so don't try to hit me with class envy with this elitist coast crap. No grants, and no help from mommy and daddy (and even if they wanted to they couldn't) and I have to pay for your school as well (as you pointed out).

Sorry try again.

Iraq. Iraq. Iraq. I support this administration because there is more to our government than Iraq. The goal of Iraq was to remove Saddam from power, nothing more, nothing less. Trying to make them a democracy is a good idea in theory to stabalize the region and prevent another anti-US dictator to gain power, but the idea of 'giving' a muslim state democracy is just as bad as the flawed ideals of communism. We have achieved our actual goal, the rest is just a nasty mess that Bush needs to deal with now. Bush has made some terrible decisions (mostly to solicit liberals), but other than a few glitches like the steel tariff and mishandling of the post Saddam Iraq, this administration stands much closer to the original goals of this country than anything the democrats currently have to offer.

You seem surprised that I can support Bush and still admit there are some serious problems. If your supposed education was worth anything you would have learned that it is neccessary to research the FACTS of your position and acknowledge faults when supporting an argument. All I am doing is calling the shots as they are, pure and simple.

I don't care what you are afraid of. Invoking fear and sounding like the bigger bad ass doesnt do anything for me. What does do it for me is having one less communist drawing off my paycheck so I can finish school and pay my house off and start on a family. Thus I state again, I will fight and kill for my freedom, not your fear.

You should just pack up now, why wait for the draft if you have such convictions? I'm guessing you'll sponge off the taxpayers until your asked to pay society back, in whatever form.

Your a cancer to society.
