So she opened your mail basically?

Federal offense.

Yes, she opened my mail. But regardless if it was an invitation to some conference, the bottom line is that one should show some manners and not open mail that is clearly not intended for them.

It's not just good manners, its the law.

Send her an email asking her never to do it again. That way, it's on the record.

On the other side of my cube is the file room manager. This lady drives me insane.
First she is not very educated. Second, her ability to speak the english language is poor at best (she is american).
Everyday I hear her on the phone bitching at her kids or talking to creditors. I swear she has at least one call a day concerning her inability to pay some bill. She wants a deferral, or it reduced or something. Do that crap at home, or go into one of the empty conference rooms!
She is also the rudest person on the phone. She isn't quiet (people 3 bays over can hear every word she spews forth).
I hate her with a passion (of course I am nice to her because I don't want her as an enemy - I don't think she would hesitate to stab me in the face were I to piss her off).

Same crap.. old office manager calls her friends like all day long.. i had enuff, whip out the web cam and recorded everything... if i didn't get my bonus i would release the video

hmm blackmail. not a good idea. if managment finds out they will fire you and can get you in legal trouble. wich you deserve.

No it would be blackmail if he demanded a raise or I will release it. I think he plans on releasing it if the manager doesn't give him a raise of her own free will, that way she gets fired and he moves up the totem pole.

its still blackmail. also a damn good way to get fired.

Yup

That or she thinks you guys are really good friends and she was very excited for you

We're actually not that close. We hardly talk unless we are working on the same project. Overall, I think she is not that bad, but she has some traits that irks me as well as other former employees.... and oh yeah, others know her for her loud voice and her ability to go off topic while being off topic already in a conversation.

Of all of those rants: Skull and Bones and Bohemian Grove are definetely legitimate.

Co-workers with long fake nails that constantly tap them across their desk.

They constantly bring attention to their weight or state that the lost 1 pound.

Insist on using globs of hand cream so when I have to work on their computer their mouse and keyboard are slimy goopy messes.

Somehow manage to get sticky substances all over their LCDs.

Are single mothers who constantly let their personal life affect their professional life, letting kids in to work on other computers, get calls constantly from their kids.

Will talk about the IPOD and passes to amusement parks or concert tickets they just got but then complain about not having enough money to feed their family.

I could go on and on?.

I know I should not let these bother me but on bad days they do, it?s something I am working on.

You might think you're not that close, but you might be the best friend she has in your office or something. Personally, I'd just wait and see if she does it again then ask her not to. Do it while she's standing right there in the process of it, not by e-mail, as e-mail will have a greater negative effect on her. No reason to crush her meaninglessly unless you're in the ogre mood.

No, it is just being a dink. He would simply be providing evidence of a superior not doing her job. I don't know that you would get fired unless they somehow connected the non-raise to the video that would be delivered to a higher up, which you couldn't. He's just concerned for the companies bottom line...honest ;)

Dink used to be a derogatory term for Asians. Has that changed?

I work out of a truck all day, in 2 man crews. My co-worker has 18 dollar tiny ass jars of moisturizing hand cream. It smells like rotten fruit. And then it's on with the gloves to dig in the earth.

Also in dispatch there is a crazy country "gal". She has an automatic message that yells at you before she answers. And before it's done she picks up, and screams in your ear. And she's hard of hearing. A lot of people just hang up on her and call back.

I drove my one co-worker crazy by remotely opening and closing his CD-ROM try. He actually stood up and yelled out "who the F*ck is doing that!" over the cubicle walls. Good times. :D

At my previous job, we had a mentally unstable coworker that was on meds. He threatened to kill everyone in the building. After consulting with the legal staff, we were told that they couldn't do anything.

Gotta love working for a State gov't.

It was a long tome ago, 25 or 30 years. The term was also used in car sales, an acronym for Dual Income No Kids, it meant they had plenty of disposable income.

Here are some of my stories from IT <true stories>.

One guy said his "super duper" dial up modem was almost as fast as our T1 line. I asked him why he said that and he said "just because so and so is the manufacturer".

Another person who couldn't or didn't know how to create a new folder in windows explorer <windows XP>.

Another one took 4 hours to fix an audio driver corrupt problem in windows 2000. I saw him struggled and it took me about 5 minutes to download from the web, ran, and reboot the computer.

Those are the ones who suppose to be IT experts :disgust:

A few years ago, I used to have to deal with UAW union members. If I picked up a piece of paper/trash off the floor or moved something like a basket/box out of the pathway, a UAW member would wrote me up for "management working...violating collective bargaining with UAW..blah blah blah.."

at my last last job, one guy was a real nut case, totally paranoid, bizarre ideas about life and the world, completely stuck in his way of doing things, refused to learn new stuff, etc. over time i got on his bad side. turns out he kept a "diary" about his work day, i guess for review time or something, that he also put a lot of personal stuff in. it was just a plain text file in his home directory, wide open read/write priveledges, he even advertised it's existence. went to read it one time and it had all kinds of bitchy stuff about me. kind of funny, actually. needless to say, when the hammer came down, he was the first to go!
