He admitted he didn't tell the Democratic leadership and basically inferred that they would leak world of the operation and get US troops killed. Which is absolutely deranged. The GOP is going to live to regret all the processes and laws he's being allowed to ignore.
 
On the whole Trump managed to turn some decently good news into a spectacle all about him replete with lies, misrepresentations, self promotion, political digs, problematic claims about keeping Syrian oil, and needless (and deeply weird) violent imagery which will create an unfavorable news cycle. He is pathologically incapable of not ruining something that should be positive for him.

Trump is projecting when he said the ISIS guy was whining like a dog, which is pretty interesting since he blew himself first.

And yet, he was more sane than usual - how low we have stooped.

I would argue that this is better than 'decently good news' - cutting the head off the snake of ISIS is very good news. People are commenting on how another leader will jump into Baghdadi's shoes. True, but the lure of bib Ladin and Baghdadi was their charisma an the depth of their personal networks - so who ever takes over won’t have the initial clout of the former leader. Not that the Middle East is on easy mode at all.

To be fair, cowardice is probably one of the few subjects Cadet Bonespurs can speak of with expertise. None of that proud de Gaulle-like indifference to gunfire, while everyone else hits the deck. This is the guy who bolts behind the nearest body when a bystander rushes his stage, who won't stand behind any of his words when pressed, who doubles back on decisions all the time after sufficient outcry, and who will talk shit about people on twitter, but offer them friendly praise and gross hugs in person.

Even in declaring victory in a raid resulting in the killing ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi the ignorant buffoon managed to embarrass himself and the entire country with his inarticulate, repetitive, self-aggrandizing blather. The man cannot start and complete a sentence without an irrelevant superlative or tangent.

I loved the initial angry face just before he got the signal that cameras were rolling. I've no doubt it was because he was told, "Mr. President, you can't use the phrase 'died like a dog' to describe the death of Al Baghdadi - it wouldn't be seen as Presidential... and we took out the language, 'screaming, crying and whimpering'....We are sure you're right, but please just read what's on the teleprompter, Mr. President. We're begging you, sir."

Bet he's wondering if there's any way he could get away with calling on a Special Forces strike on a few key House committee members.

Trump says he told Russia of ISIS raid, but not Pelosi and Schiff because ‘Washington is a leaking machine’

The president also said that countries like Russia had been notified in advance of the raid but Democratic leaders in the Gang of Eight were reportedly not told even though it is customary.

Trump suggested that House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) were not told because of potential leaks.

“We have notified some and others are being notified now as I speak,” Trump told the press. “We were going to notify them last night but we decided not to do that because Washington leaks like I’ve never seen before. There is nothing — there is no country in the world that leaks like we do.”

Apparently, we had some human intelligence since the compound layout was already known. So, there was some really good spy craft that went into get this guy. Kudos to the CIA, and whoever the unnamed foreign national is that they we’re running.

Any other info we know? Were US troops on the ground with canines as part of the assault (prior to Baghdadi getting killed)? Or after the attack when it was safer for them to do so? How does he know "he was whimpering and crying and screaming all the way"? Was any of this recorded? As he also said that he wants this video footage to be made public.
