Question: who are the 56 million idiots who voted for McCain/Palin?
That's what has worried me a lot the past 8 years. I really try to be accepting of other's political views, but when people vote for Bush/Cheney twice in a row, and then so many voting for McCain/Palin, I just can't understand it. Got me pretty worried. Hopefully Obama will do well in getting the "two Americas" working together again.
That's the only hope I have - Obama getting the repub's and dem's working together... the politicians and the ordinary citizens. If we can create policies that the majority can agree with, I'm fine with that and will commend him for that. I have no desire to despise the guy no matter what he does, but the policy ideas he, and the democrats in general, have suggested and support, I do not agree with. They have a few policies I've been intrigued by, and may support, but the majority seem to social in nature.
Don't be a bigot though. You first try and play nice, stating you 'really try to be accepting of other's political views', and then go and bash those very same views.
Got something to say? I voted for Bush the second time (could not vote for the first election, though McCain had my support, and I despised Gore, so Bush was the choice sadly). Couldn't stand Kerry, and I felt the public had *mostly* wrongly placed blame on Bush for his first term, when in reality in was the entirety of Congress.
And I voted for McCain this time, because I knew Congress would be a Dem. majority, could not stand Obama's socialist agenda (this is exaggerated sure, but some of his concepts are too social), and his policy ideas seem to have a desire of once again, placing power in the Federal government that it should not have... and wasting money on social programs.
McCain would have been a better choice, seeing as balance is necessary between the administration and Congress - the two sharing the same party and ideas just makes a mess of things (goes for both parties).
I claim no partisan allegiance, nor should anyone. It leads to terrible voting habits and having a blind eye toward potentially better candidates.
I favor some republican ideals, as well as some democrat ideals, although admittedly with far less weight in my heart. And I believe greatly in many Libertarian ideals, specifically smaller government (Federal), if only because it goes greatly against the Constitution. In that respect, I also have Constitutionalist ideals too. And to summarize, I am very much Moderate. I am in no part Socialist though, despise all social programs and feel they are a waste of Federal money. Let social programs, if they are to exist, exist in the States, for they are ones that are Constitutionally have that power. Federal government turned it's back on the Tenth Amendment quite some time ago, and has continued to do so.
Seems I am in extreme minority with my political views though, as the entire country continues to accept all these radical changes. Nobody cares about the USA. Bunch of bastards all of you, turning your backs on the Founding Fathers - I share a bloodline with one of them dammit!
