Here in California, we have politicians that want to define 10/22 rifles as assault weapons that need to be registered for our safety. Two generations ago, 10/22 rifles were used on Main Street in Disneyland for kids to use in the shooting gallery.

that only lasted for a few months....

anyway, I can't find any evidence of a legit fair/carnival shooting gallery using .22LR, most of them are air based pellet guns.

.22LR was ALWAYS branded as kid friendly. It was a coming of age badge to get your first .22, and what a good feeling that was as a kid

low recoil, accurate, cheap, but STILL deadly and something to learn.
