MSNBC has a link to a story on it from the main page, but all I get is an ASP server error.

Must be all the traffic. :(

Ok, look at it this way, what is the point of worrying? Are you gonna wear your gas mask 24/7 for the next few days? Are you gonna go and buy a gun and cary that 24/7?

Mine and other similiar responces come because:

1. There have been these alerts before.
2. We have trust in secuirity
3. No point in worrying about something we can do nothign about.

A senior U.S. law enforcement official told CNN the information was viewed as credible because of the specificity of those allegedly involved in a plot.

These guys are morons. It says they have specifics but they don't give the public any. Lets see their pics or what the plot was involved. These non-descript warnings are useless.

I really dont see what these public warnings do to help. Should I build a bomb shelter or something? Run out to the store and hoard? Buy gas masks? In my opinion, there's not much the common person can do if something major was to happen.

I see no problem with them posting these alerts............will it change what I do day-to-day???? No, but, I also would be willing to bet that if they didn't, and another attack took place, the same people poking fun at the alerts would be the same people damning the gov. for having some information on an attack beforehand and not letting us know............;)

1 or 2 guys knowing what's going on, and the rest are just supposed to be ready for anything--ready to be martyrs. That seems to be how they work.

yo...I'm not EVEN going to hesitate being on alert...almost losing my dad that morning in September made me realize that the unexpected IS possible...anyone of my fellow New Yorkers will agree...so stop HATING...let tomorrow pass, and let's hope that nothing happens anytime soon, so I won't have to worry about my dad; so noone will have to worry about anything or anyone...

Better to be safe than sorry...

<< Copy that Xerox Man.... Buncha punkass kids it's sounds like to me.
"I betcha a hundred bucks nuttin will happen!"

....Whatever.

And I suppose there was a post along these lines the night of September 10th? If something does happen, it's gonna hit hard and noone is going to know about it beforehand. Just like the last one, and just so I'm not misinterpreted it will be a sad day, just like the last one. You doom'n'gloom idiots need to shut the heck up.

Do you have Comcast HSI? Chances are if you do, you won't be able to access the fbi.gov domain. The solution is to not use CC's DNS servers!

Cheers!

The more paranoid I get the more conservative I vote. I guess Republicans won't be funding mental health.

It shocks me that some of you may take these warnings as a joke... imgagine this, what would you have thought if september 8th the FBI isued a warning about a plot to attack the US, would you have laughed it off? Dont seem like the right thing now right? :| These things are no joke people. :(

The whole point of terrorism is the terrorist wants to frighten people, and then when people start to get complacent and relax, that is when they will strike!

Yeah, as long as they keep issuing these "wanings" then their jobs & the enormous amount of $$ that's being spent are justified.

And if you'd been warned on Sept 10th that there was a "threat of terrorism" the next day, and you were either flying or working in the WTC, would you have stayed home/off the plane/away from the WTC? No way. So, even this warning the day before would have been useless.

I don't really think it's something to laugh about. These people mean business, they want to kill Americans. As soon as we become complacent they will strike again. I think people joking about the war and the threats have a lot to learn. My father and uncles did not fight in WWII to save the world so some cave dwelling inbreds can take away our freedom and comfort of home.

This war is not going to end until we all feel as safe living in America as we did on September 10th, 2001.
