Rather interesting, wasnt the second coming of Jesus suppose to end the world or something? They say that they are hoping the birth to happen 25dec 2001, when that happens the calanander is supposed to start again, the good thing about that is there will be no problems with the next millenium to start exactly 1000 years from there.

Wouldn't it be funny if the cloned person turns out to be an athesist!

Why the hell would ANYONE actively work to bring about the end of the world? Fine, if you want to clone the dude thats cool, but why can't they wait 5 years to avoid any prophecies (If you believe in such tripe)??? Damn religious nuts.

Hmm, where did they get the DNA?

Also, why do idiots always get so much attention? I mean, just because something gets cloned it doesn't make the copy exactly the same as the original. Personality traits, like/dislikes, and intelligence may possibly widely vary. I kinda hope these guys do it. They'll make a splicing error and their "Jesus" will literally be born with his head up his @$$! The idiots will scatter, then we'll have to wait for the next idiot convention to see what crazy fooked thing they can think up next. :D

I don't think people should clone each other, it's just weird. Haven't really thought about it too much.

And even if Jesus's DNA was replicated (I can face it, it'll probably happen, along with tons of other figures from history), big deal. Not immaculately conceived by God as the Bible says Christ was. Just a guy with the same genes.

I think environmental factors will be found to outweigh genetic predispositions in character, just in case you're thinking that we could clone Napolean or something and magically get a great leader.

Well, what are we waiting for? There is an address there for us to all send in our donations! :p

It would be hilarious if they were not serious.

The arrogance of some people! That's called Playing God and methinks it wouldn't go over too well. Some people just use the Bible for their own agendas, and I think these people want to be seen as holy and righteous. And the new virgin has already volunteered for the job! Poor thing, I'm sure she is the victim of life-long brainwashing.

Freaks and idiots. If it works, I have no doubt Jesus will reject them first by saying "You never knew Me".

Why, I already have a plastic one on the dashboard of my car?

(Singing)
Oh, I dont care if it rains or freezes
Long as I got my plastic J....
Sitting on the dashboard of my car.

Oh, I just thought about something else, too. We would finally find out what Jesus looks like for certain:). Whenever people are talking or thinking about Jesus, they'd think of this guy's face. I don't know exactly how that would affect things, but it probably would be bad for this guy to be suddenly made into a god.

I think they should make mini-jesuses. I mean how cool would it be to have God incarnate to follow you around and stuff like that. You know, someone cuts you off in traffic and they are struck dead, or a plague of locusts on them or something.

I give this a 0% chance of happening.

Do you guys actaually believe in that thing?????? It's just a load of BS! These guys don't have the faintest clue about what they are talking about, their 'cloning technology'!!!
This is either a prank or complete moronic nonsense!

WRONG WRONG WRONG
It can't be done with today's technology. I actually met a priest who has spent his entire life working/studying the Torah, and it cannot be done. That damn crazy cult is a bunch of idiots, besides artificially creating Jesus would be worthless since it would not be an actual Jesus, ( not sent down through God), his Mom was a normal person, so it's not like their family genetics were "holy".

Where to get the DNA? Nowhere, but some feel the Shroud of Turin is authentic and may contain it. As for the skin color of Jesus II, well that also depends on who they choose as the mother. To the best of my knowledge it takes more than dna to create life.

In any case there's more to a man than his deoxyribonucleic acid! ;)

"by taking an incorrupt cell from one of the many Holy Relics of Jesus' blood and body that are preserved in churches throughout the world..."

I'd love to see them check the DNA of any of those sources to see if any two are alike. If they finally do find the real thing, I'm all for the cloning. Better hurry though, before it's against the law!

Now that's just plain weird. Somebody hit the bong one too many times.

I can see it now,

"Dooode, if we like, get some of that Jesus dudes DNA somehow, like we can CLONE him dooode. Then, like we can, (insert sound of someone taking a big hit) have our own Jesus doode. It, will be like, you know, cool doode."

I read this before, and I still feel the same thing: it's impossible, but interesting to think about. Even if they tried to extract some DNA from one of the relics he supposedly touched, there'd be a chance that they'd accidentally get some DNA of one of the people who touched the relic 2000 or so years ago. And wouldn't the genetic material have decayed already? Besides, once the kid finds out he's jesus, he'll probably find some way to market memorabilia with his picture on it and just live out his life in a mansion with billions of dollars. Maybe his 'miracles' will be when he donates a few hundred millions of dollars for research to cure some disease.

Stop the discussion. It's impossible. Please don't tell me you believe this. If so I'll go watch Monday night football while you watch X-Files.

CLONING: Everything you always wanted to know...

From what I've heard, we are able to clone a human at this time. I haven't read the above link yet, but I heard that mice have been cloned. The fact that mice were cloned means that humans can be cloned. The mice are harder to do.

Clones are exact twins of the donor. I've also heard that the clone starts out with cells the same age as the donor. I guess a cell can only divide about 40 times. If the donor's cells have already divided 20 times, the clone only has 20 divisions coming. Queer, eh?

I've also heard that the shroud was found to be a hoax.

Ornery, yeah but you need viable, uncontaminated DNA. Unless a part of Jesus somehow managed to find its way into something like maple syrup, and that syrup became petrified, then there's no way this could happen. It's the same scam as resurrecting dinosaurs from dna found in bones or petrified beeswax. I'd lay down my coin on the success of cloning a new wolly mammoth over Jesus II.
