Yep, I just read that the DNA has to be well preserved or frozen. So, it won't be doable in the near future, but who knows what we may be able to do with crusty old DNA later?

We should be able to clone Einstein right away though, right? :Q

Didn't he demand the same pay as Richardo? I also heard he was free with his money and was quite the lady's man.

<< Stop the discussion. It's impossible. Please don't tell me you believe this. If so I'll go watch Monday night football while you watch X-Files. >>

Impact, it's very possible. cloning a human isn't all that different from cloning dolly. in fact, I remember 2 years back that dr. seed intended to clone a human in mexico...but never heard about him since. nevertheless, cloning humans will more than likely be a reality in the future.

<< Besides, once the kid finds out he's jesus, he'll probably find some way to market memorabilia with his picture on it and just live out his life in a mansion with billions of dollars. >>

good point. if they do clone jesus, I hope I'll be alive by then to see what happens.

also, on the clonejesus.com site:

"Do not disobey the Bible. Send your contribution to The Second Coming Project today!" http://www.clonejesus.com/pred.html

at first, I wasn't sure if the ppl claiming that they will clone jesus were serious. but after reading that, I'm convinced it's a scam. I wonder how much they are going to make by ripping off ppl.

This is the most stupid thing I heard in a long time.

First of all, Jesus was a Jew - decended through his mother Mary from King David's line. He would have looked like a Jew.

Secondly, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get any authenticated cells to clone that are actually from Jesus. Most of the religious "relics" he is supposed to have used, worn or touched are fake. Thirdly, they would have had to be preserved for cloning. Lastly, his body was never found (by anyone - disciples especially who wanted to bury him).

Finally, if he was indeed God's Son, He wouldn't allow it (Jesus' body was taken as a sacrifice to God). If he wasn't, who cares.

The body of Jesus has DNA like the body of any other Man. I would assume that God would confuse any attempt to reconstitute the clone of the Body of Jesus.

I know for certain that if the body was cloned from the actual DNA of Jesus, you still have to clone the Spirit and Soul of Jesus to go with it.

At this Time...no earth bound Man has access to that Power.

I just think he would turn out like dolly the sheep, just fine. As for souls, that gets really confused. Of course you base your soul on christian religion, but who's to say we don't have multiple souls..constantly changing streams of souls.. or even no souls at all. hehe, some religions beleive that animals also posses souls..:p

Right, ok, so you are maybe one of those who belive that animals were created for men just so men could eat?

Every living thing has a soul, every thinking thing has a mind.

Some men do...it's called possession by evil spirits...men also call it schizofrenia.

If this cult even exists and finds a perfect sampling of Jesus' DNA, I think it's wrong to clone Him.

But for the sake of argument, let's say they do plan to clone Him. Sure -- he'll look like Jesus, and may even have the same voice. But the same mind? Doubtful. Regardless of how advanced our cloning procedures turn out to be, Jesus' personality cannot be replicated simply by putting his genes back in place. Our emotions, feelings and thoughts are greatly influenced by time (i.e., as we live today), our environment, and other physical factors. If we really want an exact duplicate of Jesus (impossible via cloning), we'd need for him to be brought up the same way as he did 2000 years ago -- grow up in Israel, go through the same issues, study carpentry, etc. It would not be the same.
