How to clone my M.2 WD SATA ssd to a WD_BLACK SN850X Gen 4 PCIe ssd. I could not find the NVME driver.
This is windows 10.Let me guess, Win7?
You'll need to pre-install the Win7 NVMe driver from MS. Which I understand has been pulled.
This enclosure auto installs a WD NVME driver ?!I used a USB to NVME adapter and Macrium without any issues. Sabrent USB 3.2 Type-C Tool-Free... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08RVC6F9Y?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
CloneZilla auto provides a WD NVME driver ?Clonezilla will do any drive cloning.
I doubt it did but it worked with a WD SN750 drive. This enclosure auto installs a WD NVME driver ?!
Theres no windows 10 built-in NVME driver. What's wrong with the Win10 built-in NVMe driver?
I click on the drive during BOOT, but windows does not boot up. ASUS Z690-A. Its on a slot that supports PCIe 4.0 x4. I tried all the slots already. So the drive does not appear in BIOS or Windows after installing it? What motherboard are you using? And which m.2 slot are you installing the drive?
Yes, the windows 10 in the SATA ssd has no problems.Does the PC boot from the SATA SSD?
So did you clone the drive? Can you see the m.2 in Windows?Yes, the windows 10 in the SATA ssd has no problems.
The cloning works but since the source is SATA, i guess its not compatible with NVME. It just wont boot. The files are there. Is there a software that does this automatically like how the SAMSUNG DATA MIGRATION does it.So did you clone the drive? Can you see the m.2 in Windows?
What software did you use to clone it? Did you disconnect the SATA drive as Tech Junky mentioned? The cloning works but since the source is SATA, i guess its not compatible with NVME. I used Macrium Reflect, and Yes, I disconnected the SATA drive after cloning. The NVME drive was the only drive in the entire desktop. What software did you use to clone it? Did you disconnect the SATA drive as Tech Junky mentioned?
Ok. Did you include all of the partitions from the SATA SSD?I used Macrium Reflect, and Yes, I disconnected the SATA drive after cloning. The NVME drive was the only drive in the entire desktop.
EverythingOk. Did you include all of the partitions from the SATA SSD?
All partitions are cloned. No other drives are connected. Is there any WD software that has NVME driver ? What if people want to clone from HDD ? Then all their data are screwed ??Reconnect the SATA drive, leave the NVME installed and boot into Windows. Go to disk management and share a screenshot of your drives.
