You didn't bother reading the article yourself did you?

I guess you missed little nuggets like this...

Cox said the fact that Clinton’s staff -- rather than a State Department federal records officer -- chose which emails to destroy is "honestly breathtaking." Her private employees don’t have the authority to decide what does or doesn’t count as a federal record. Further, when she was making these choices, she was acting as a private citizen, not a government employee.

I also like how she, herself, said they deleted the emails. Oops. Well, maybe not. Guess the FBI is going to be able to look at whether the ones she destroyed are all personal. Bloomberg article already says they weren't.

Oops.

You have to understand a public official doing public work is different than a private citizen. I hope?

Of course I understand the difference. What does that have to do with what I wrote?

Officials of both public and private companies have laws, rules, and regulations they have to abide by. What joe public wants and expects doesn't change that now does it?

Do they really say otherwise? Politifact, which you guys love, says differently.

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-m...lary-clintons-email-did-she-follow-all-rules/

From your link-

Because these rules weren’t in effect when Clinton was in office, "she was in compliance with the laws and regulations at the time," said Gary Bass, founder and former director of OMB Watch, a government accountability organization.

"Unless she violated a rule dealing with the handling of classified or sensitive but unclassified information, I don’t see how she violated any law or regulation," said Bass, who is now executive director of the Bauman Foundation. "There may be a stronger argument about violating the spirit of the law, but that is a very vague area."

There are countervailing opinions offered as well, but this is what the DoJ offered-

http://www.msnbc.com/all-in/watch/doj--clinton-within-law-to-delete-emails-524100163553

The Hillary hate will continue, I'm sure, spread by the usual methods, but when this is over with it probably won't amount to a puddle of warm spit.

Yes that was his opinion which was already debunked in this thread, or did you miss that post?

Did you bother reading the rest of the article? Did it bother you that nothing was definitive?

A public official does not have the same expectation of privacy for their public related property. Your example of allowing cops to search our property is a poor analogy.

Come on! Everyone knows that the politician creed is "do as I say, not as I do".

Hillary is right! She didn't send any classified email from her private server, because she was not doing her job as SOS. She was running for POTUS. She never punched the clock. So no harm no foul.

If it was a repub you would want the Freedom of Information and Open Records acts to be upheld.

But hey, party bias is a powerful thing I'm sure.

And we would have had the same outcome: nothing illegal or against the rules and still within their rights and duty to determine what was work related and able to delete personal email.

So regardless of what "side" you are on and your personal feelings it would still essentially be a non story.

Right and when all the work related emails were deleted then how could anyone ever submit for a discovery that could be complied with.

It's okay, you don't really understand how those laws work clearly.

Given how this she-demon has zero chance at being president, we've finally come to something we can agree on. This entire thing is moot!

Well if you understood how the law works you would have realized that that was exactly how it worked before Obama issued an executive order removing the decision of the federal employee to determine what was or wasn't government work related.

So again, nothing would have been different and this would still have been a non story.

As did I until I found out what she did wasn't illegal and had been done before.

Neither of those things make it okay to do something that's wrong. It seems clear to me that Clinton should not have used the server for official business even it was not illegal to do so and even if others have done similar things in the past. That said, it's worthy of a brief note and criticism, and nothing more. It's a joke to make this into some kind of huge scandal, and it's an example of the worst kind of cynicism in Washinton and the most pathetic identity politics in everyone else.

Put your money where your mouth is. PredictIt is giving her roughly even odds to be the next president. Bet the farm against her since she has a "zero" chance of being president. $500 to make $1,000. Easiest money you'll ever make, right?

If for some tragic and brain dead reason Jeb or Donald gets into office do you guys think this won't lay the foundation down for more of this sidestepping of the FOIA.

It's best to hold everyone to the laws that hold our government accountable to its people, even for the bias party zealots as they have no idea who is going to be in office next.

Find an escrow for the bet, I will PayPal $500 immediately that Hillary is not president. Will you?
