I definately don't believe that the Dub, his administration and the Neocons are the ones capable of doing the job right. How can I after seeing the mess they made over there.

I don't believe anyone else is any more capable. If we had left it up to the alternative circa 2004 one has to wonder just what might have been, and relish in knowing that we'll never have to find out.
I know you don't, your belief in the Ability of the Dub seems almost fanatical especially when one considers the horrific mess he made there with his ill conceived military and political blunders.

So you are saying the ends don't justify the means? (as "blundered" as they may be?)

I'm saying that I sincerly doubt that the means used will achieve the ends you envision.

Iraq is misdirected anger and aggression. It has become a rallying point for Muslim extremist around the world. Instead of taking the fight to them, we've given them a playground to create havok.

The facts are the insurgency and extremist movements are not getting weaker, they are picking up more recruits and spreading their chaos to other parts of the world (Jordan is a prime example). Essentially, we've given fuel to their fire.

If Bush was really interested in fighting terrorism we would have gone into Iran, Saudi Arabia, or Pakistan well before we went into Iraq. A bigger question has got to be how exactly are we supposed to win this war on terror? We must defeat their ideology and create an environment where it is unsafe for them to live, instead of the other way around.

The reality of this situation is that we never planned even remotely well enough. Now, we are paying the price because in a few years we will pull out of Iraq, and for all we know the people of Iraq might install a religious dictator or they may end up in civil war. The cost of poor planning could very well mean the destruction of the goals we set out to accomplish.
