Beware of prophets seeking profits - Dennis MillerWhen every 'solution' to Global Warming seems to involve transferring wealth from one group and giving it to another - I certainly have every right to question the motives of the people making the claim.
Even IF we are truly killing the planet, and its death is going to happen shortly, the left is causing more harm than good by attemping to treat GW as an excuse to transfer wealth.
Where do you get from the alleged misconduct of a handful of scientists to "the whole thing has been a ruse?" Are you really this stupid?

happy festivus!
You, like Patranus, obviously revel in your ignorance. Only people like you and Patranus think that "getting the data right" (meaning removing measurement errors) means fudging data to fake a trend.
I give up dealing with cretins like your kind. You can't even understand what's right in front of your face.
Does "fake but accurate" come to anyone's mind when reading the MMGW believer's apologisms over this?
Does "sightless and retarded" come to anyone's mind when reading the posts of the climate-deniers?
Only your posts.
I am pretty sure no one is denying that climates change. There was an ice age and now there isn't...wow...climate change...
guess what...
...the climate is ALWAYS changing.
The discussion is over the impact (if any) man has on this.
Looks like a hacker or an inside job got 60 MB of data with e-mails, files, what not at the CRU. They then posted it on a FTP server. Now millions have it and are going over it. And these E-mails show that they purposefully changed or manipulated data to show a warming trend, when the data actually said the opposite.
This could be the final blow to global warming and expose it for a political agenda rather than science.

Original climate data dumped, only the massaged data remains. This should make things interesting as it does make it difficult if not impossible to verify and reproduce results.
Alter the original data and dump it...sweeeet! 'Science' just ain't what it used to be.http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/environment/article6936328.ece

Oh...the irony.
I particularly liked the emails about who could be 'trusted' or not. Shira...there was obvious collusion to thwart anyone who had the audacity to ask questions. Everything was kept hidden with accessibility to extremely important information limited to an inner circle. This may not seem important to you for reasons I don't understand...but it reeks to high heaven for others. I suggest that you think twice if this is your idea of good science.Reading the posts of Patranus, Doc Savage Fan, CadSortaGuy, Ozoned, Charrison, Boomerang, and the rest is like watching a daisy chain of mutual masturbators. More and more feverishly, they yank each others' conspiracy-theory wangs as they build to their climate-denial orgasms, sprinkling their adolescent loads over the imagined corpse of climate science.
Somehow, though, the field of climatology isn't getting the message. The same old reports of climate damage continue to be released. The same old linkages between mankind's activities and global warming continue to be made. The Copenhagen Conference is proceeding full speed ahead.
Somehow, no one but the climate deniers is treating email-gate as more than the insignificant incident that it actually is. Maybe they need another circle jerk. Yeah, that's the ticket: Copenhagen Climate-Denial Circle-Jerk 2009.

Edit - Article below with salient points bolded.
SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.
It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years.
The UEAs Climatic Research Unit (CRU) was forced to reveal the loss following requests for the data under Freedom of Information legislation.
The data were gathered from weather stations around the world and then adjusted to take account of variables in the way they were collected. The revised figures were kept, but the originals stored on paper and magnetic tape were dumped to save space when the CRU moved to a new building.
The admission follows the leaking of a thousand private emails sent and received by Professor Phil Jones, the CRUs director. In them he discusses thwarting climate sceptics seeking access to such data.
In a statement on its website, the CRU said: We do not hold the original raw data but only the value-added (quality controlled and homogenised) data.
The CRU is the worlds leading centre for reconstructing past climate and temperatures. Climate change sceptics have long been keen to examine exactly how its data were compiled. That is now impossible.
Roger Pielke, professor of environmental studies at Colorado University, discovered data had been lost when he asked for original records. The CRU is basically saying, Trust us. So much for settling questions and resolving debates with science, he said.
Jones was not in charge of the CRU when the data were thrown away in the 1980s, a time when climate change was seen as a less pressing issue. The lost material was used to build the databases that have been his lifes work, showing how the world has warmed by 0.8C over the past 157 years.
He and his colleagues say this temperature rise is unequivocally linked to greenhouse gas emissions generated by humans. Their findings are one of the main pieces of evidence used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which says global warming is a threat to humanity.
What the fuck is wrong with trying to respect the environment that created and feeds us and our future?
I find it is mostly capitalism at all cost Republicans who deny man made climatological disturbance and LOVE to see corporations keep making money and dumping sewage and chemicals and such in our habitat.
Why is hate for the earth and hate for average people a Republican thing 🙁
