I think that as far as other men goes... I'm not really sure. I don't really pay attention to celebrities, so I don't know who looks good in that area. I know that a lot of my friends have pretty good taste in clothes, IMO. I might just talk to them about it and see where they shop, and what they think looks good.

Here are some pictures...

Those are about as good as I've got that are recent... hope it helps..??

Thank you for the photos again. May I be honest? I know the whole "shaggy" hair thing is in, and yours is not too bad, but I would suggest trimming it a bit. (ok, more than a bit)

You look fine in the second photo and the suit looks good on you. The first you, you look like a 20something in casual clothes. Do you want to change your "everyday" look too?

The jacket seems a bit long and the tie knot is too small but i agree that #1 pic looks pretty normal to me. Looks exactly like what anybody my age would wear on a daily basis. If your personality is really laid back, theres no need to dress like your 40, it'll just look/feel really weird

Personally, I prefer stuff like 7 Diamonds that you can get at the Buckle over Macy's. But that brand may be more casual than you were thinking. I try to avoid both places and shop at local / non-chain stores.

If you want to look more adult then if your on a budget shop Joseph Banks on sales, if you have more money then consider Brooks Brothers, J Press, Hickey Freeman, and a few others...good luck.

You look pretty thin and tall...its going to be hard to find clothes that fit properly. Try Banana Republic. Brooks Brothers is nice...but a little too boring for me. It might be good if your in your mid 30s or something. Express is also nice, but their clothes wear out too quickly. Also just try the major department stores. Its all about fit and color coordination.

I don't care what anyone says but I'm a clothing conseiur and you get what you pay for. I don't care how color coordinated you are and how hard you try, you can spot the difference between Express and Nieman Marcus a mile away. Most people can't though so it depends the type of people you encounter and if you care.

It'd be even more convincing if you knew how to spell "connoisseur".

And why would you compare "Express" to "Neiman Marcus" since the former is a label/brand whereas the latter is a department store?

I will bet you one million dollars that I can't spot the difference from a mile away.

Shoot, I just buy my clothes at Walmart and Target, occasionally Kohls. Not much point in paying more money at mall stores when they all come from the same sweat shop anyway.

They don't come from the same sweatshop... If they did, it wouldn't be that profitable😉.

I didn't read all the replies. My opinion:

1) Cut your hair.
2) Pull up your pants.
3) Get rid of the t-shirt(s) and just get yourself some decent shirts.

I hate Nieman Marcus, but to each their own. Nordstrom, Macy's, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers and maybe even Express all has decent offerings, especially when on sale.

In my opinion, you can class it up slightly just by doing the following:

1) Get a nice pair of jeans. Something with some style and a good shape to it. Get rid of the baggy jeans.
2) Get a nice pair of shoes that goes with jeans. Forget tennis shoes.
3) Get a nice belt.
4) Get a few nice button up shirts.
5) Tuck it in.
6) Throw on a jacket, maybe.
7) Most importantly, look confident and be comfortable.

That's about all you need for most places. This is just about my standard setup for restaurants, clubs, etc. unless it's a more formal place.

That's just my opinion of course.

most cannot.

I also believe you get what you pay for,but I can certainly not afford a closet fullof $400 slacks and $200 sweaters. Clothes should NEVER make the man.

The best thing to do is to get a few "staple" pieces in your wardrobe that are of good quality and cut. then build upon those with less expensive items.

Nordstrom, Saks, Nieman Marcus.

Baby steps my friend, baby steps.

Ehh...this is about the best place for such things. Neiman Marcus is also Bergdorf Goodman, if the OP is more familiar with that. But if he shops at those types of places he'll probably be talked down to a lot visiting these stores.

Banana Republic

x2

and Express and H&M

and J.Crew

J.Crew is at a different level. Better than those two combined, and probably the better bet than A&F crap.

Because some people actually think Express is nice.
