ClassicShell, other developers working on it?

Back when I was still using Windows 8.0 I used ClassicShell to make usable and I know the developer quit working on it, but I was wondering if other developers are working on this now or have forked it?

Shame to see it go since this was one of the best Start Menu replacements around.

I hate to state the obvious but there is a sticky just above this thread that lists start menu alternatives.

Don't know - never used CS - only Start8 and 10. Start* gives me a desktop and Start Menu exactly the same as what I have in Win 7.

Here is a picture of how my laptop wiht Classic Shell looks.

I like Classic Shell a lot.

I never tried Start8 or Start10. I do believe they have a trial available. Give it a try and see if it is worth it to you.

I'm not running Windows at all the moment. But I since will be going to school, I might need to.

I use CS on my 1709 pc's and certainly don't want to see it stop working. Start10 is like $5 but it doesn't offer the same features and the last time I tried it just to see it wouldn't even install correctly.

Classic Shell version 4.3.1 is the best in my view. And it is working with Windows 10 Home 64 Build 1709 .. you can try it on the next release of Windows 10 and see how it does.

That would be nice, but Microsoft and others (Mozilla, Opera) like to do things their way, with no regards as to the real end users wants. They should not be forcing an "it's our way only" approach, be it the User Interface or the forced Feature Updates to Window 10 -- Give us the choice of how we want to see the display and to pick if we need / want the newest (usually not so greatest & usually unneeded) feature updates to Windows 10
