I jsut want to say soemthing.

Class warfare is not new in the US. It is 30 years old when divergence began. The wealthy have been waging this war for a long time. I am fed up with republicans sayign that democrats want to start class warfare. It has been started a long time ago. The difference today is that things are so out of whack that the poor people actually are realizing it now.

The wealthy started class warfare 30 years ago. Stop trying to tell poor people that we have a bad attitude about it.

End of story.

I think we should pit Gym Class vs Shop Class in a war. Circular saws vs baseball bats! Only one class can survive!

are you also sick of hearing about how "republicans want to push grandma off a cliff" or "republicans want to kill kids with autism?"

class warfare itself isnt' new but the democrats seem to be using it as part of their campaign strategy recently

How did the standard of living of a poor person today become so much greater than it was 30 years ago?

Most people below the poverty line in the U.S. live with electricity, televisions, cell phones...

You are correct up to a point. However, I think the current administration has taken class warfare to a new level.

No, the repubs basically want to close their eyes, think of a happy time that never really existed, and blame someone else.

There is no call about pushing grandma off a cliff, unless it is someone elses grandma... and she'sa terrorist or somethin... :crosseyed:

The way I see it, you have two options:

(1) sit on your ass and wait for someone else to fix your problem, or
(2) get up off your ass and take life head-on

You can either sit around feeling like an oppressed victim for the rest of your life, or you change the way you view life.

There is no class warfare.

You haven't got a clue what it's like to be poor.

Republicans have ONE overriding goal: To funnel wealth toward the wealthy. It was even explicitly spelled out back in '10:

http://theinternettoday.net/news/ev...til-tax-cuts-for-the-rich-have-been-extended/

EVERY SINGLE Republican senator signed this one, stating very clearly that THE MOST IMPORTANT issue to them was the extension of tax cuts for the wealthy.

Anything else that Republicans pretend to care about is just a ploy to get votes from stupid people.

from your link:

"prevented the tax increase that is currently awaiting all American taxpayers"

i didn't see in there where it's just the wealthy? or are you making reference to the fact that the top 5% of income pays for 70% of all taxes? and that if the rich don't pay taxes than nobody does?

Poverty? America doesnt know poverty. Im pretty confident having travelled to over a dozen different countries America doesnt know what poverty is.

LINK

It only takes $34,000 a year, after taxes, to be among the richest 1% in the world.

...people at the world's true middle -- as defined by median income -- live on just $1,225 a year.

Class warfare by the rich has always been taking place since the country was founded - and by the nobility in England before that.

The wealthy got ahold of some nuclears weapons 30 years ago, is what changed.

And it's a cycle of taking power by them, the more wealth they take, the more powerful they get, and the more they take again.

93% of economic recovery since 2008 going to the top 1%, what else do you need?

Is it any wonder there is no candidate for President who doesn't serve them, basically, with the Republicans nominating someone with only one principle, helping the wealthy, who is a caricature at his phony pandering to say anything that will get him votes in his current election?

Thurston Romney III 2012.

I've long said, as they gain more power, this stops being about their controlling who's elected, and starts being about gutting the very system of democracy for the people.

How do the people get their country back if they don't act before it gets worse? Another 'revolution'? No. Nothing gets it back at that point.

When that happens, people are simply not given the power over things affecting the wealthy; they get a toy government that passes national awareness days.

And they're grateful for that.

We already have 25% of the nation oblivious praising their masters for saving them from the Kenyan Muslim - what happens when that become 90%?

It's the USSR all over again, except instead of chanting communist mantras to hide the corruption, you chant Republican mantras about 'freedom' to hide the corruption.

Instead of state-driven ideology enslaving workers, it's private tycoons controlling all the resources enslaving them.

That's not hunger, boy, it's freedom hunger! Celebrate it!

The fact Romney has even 5% support shows we have a class of oblivious, ignorant, brainwashed ideologues who are a menace to themselves and the country.

On the basis of what? Nothing more than money telling them to.

Not his positions - where you can't name perhaps even one he hasn't changed.

Not his 'ability to fix the economy' where his corporate raiding has almost nothing to do with good government, his party ran the economy into the biggest crisis since the Great Depression and has offered nothing to improve it, the one issue he took a clear position on was the auto bailiouts and he got it wrong - and is now lying about the position he took - not his 'support for working moms' against an attack he made up, and has a record of actually saying the thing he falsely accuses Democrats of saying... on and on.

Mitt Romney is the joke that follows the winning of the 'class war' by the only side fighting it while they lie that it's the 99% who are fighting it.

Where every government policy favoring them is not the government doing it while helping the American people is big government.

Where the wealth they extract from the people of the country, 'they made', while any share of the wealth the people generate they ask for is envy.

It's plutocracy, and only idiots who cheer it.

Republican propagandists are notorious for lying with a phrase. Twisting words like freedom into poisonous policies. 'Class warfare' is like having a black man stick up a white man and demand his money and when the white man says 'that's wrong', the robber says 'are you a racist!? You better not be, shut up and give me your money'.

'Shut up and give me your money' is the real motto of the Republican party and the Romney campaign, class warfare a perverse lie as they rob.

Ssss, don't tell the 6.3M it helped out of poverty.
http://www.cbpp.org/cms/index.cfm?fa=view&id=2505

Thought we were talking about their standard of living.:|

A black lawyer is not a freak of nature. Nor a black doctor. Nor a black banker. Not even, today, a black President of the US.

The fact that for a century such people WOULD have been a freak of nature, did not exist, and now they suddenly do...

Has NOTHING to do with any government efforts, don't you understand that? It's magic.

I agree completely and will just add.

Democrats do the exact same shit.
Obama is bush light.

As long as we allow money to flow into the process, that money will dictate the process and reap the benefits of that process.

Most people below the poverty line in the U.S. live with electricity, televisions, cell phones...

200 years ago, the Rich argued that the poor had coats, and some even had shoes...

Citing the technological advance of society has no relevance to the issues of explosively widening inequality, and of the relentless pursuit of power by Wealth. The only difference between having a net worth of $50M and a net worth of $5B is power, the power to bend egalitarian democracy to your will.

It's why they're waging class warfare in the first place.
