this was on MSNBC on tuesday or something

I think it's absolutely ridiculous to sue fastfood companies for some moron's stupidity.

No I would not take the money. It is not the fault of the fast food place that this guy is fat. It is not their fault that anyone is fat. No one is forcing you to eat there.

ANYBODY can lose weight. They're simply f%!&ing lazy. The other health problems caused by food... well that's another story. Watch what you eat, genious.

They post the fat and calorie contents of all their crappy fare. Fat people should take a second out of their lives and read the chart to see the crap these places serve will do bad stuff to your body. As with any class action lawsuit, the only ones who come out ahead are the lawyers who cooked it up

why sue the fast food companys? why not sue the food producers themselves? I say sue the stupid pigs(mmmm....bacon), cows (mmm......beef), and corn (mmm.....margarine)! Damn those animals anyways! And if they can't pay, then I say we EAT THEM!

and IF it looks like there is a lot of money to be gained, Would you put your name in the hat?
Remember, in class-action lawsuits, it's the lawyers who get the majority of the money. The consumers who joined this lawsuit might get enough out of it to purchase another "happy meal" which seems hardly worth it to me.

For the person who said that fast food doesn't cause obesity, but inactivity does - you are only partially correct. If someone eats once a day at McDonalds and that meal contains 70 mg of fat, being active and exercising will be somewhat effective. However, the exercise will not fully get rid of the bad fat and cholesterol that you had consumed during that meal. Behavior modification (including a well-balanced diet) in addition to activity (exercise, etc.) is the true key.

Also, as it was already mentioned, nobody is FORCING us to eat this bad food at these establishments. Suing them for making you fat is about as frivilous as spilling hot coffee on yourself and expecting to collect millions of dollars off the person and / or company who made the coffee. Duh!

I wouldn't mind if the fast food chains, as a result, offered healthier food. It'd have the long-term effect of lowering insurance premiums for us all, but immediately, I'd like to have healthier options. I care a lot about my physique and when there is almost nothing except for a grilled chicken sandwich with no sauce (or 3 of them) that I can order that fits the bill....something is wrong.

damn straight. camden is coming up tho.

I think these people shouldnt be suing mcdonalds because they could pick up a basketball or something.

Mickey D's however has made most of american society slaves to the fast food world. Its like they force you to get more. say if u just wanted a sandwich and fries. it would cost u like $2.50 for the sandwich and $1.50 for the fries. so u figured u get the extra value meal for fifty cents more. the youre like u can get more soda and fries for just .39. and theres another level after that. if u get caught up like that u r a slave to the fast food world.

I dunno. Im just saying sh!t but maybe the dude is suing them for forcing him to super-size cause the prices are oh so right. with the small amount each person would get, they need to buy a basketball or something.

Although I highly doubt this is the cause of any of this, I do find it annoying when I get asked twenty seven times if I'm sure if I don't want to super size my meal because it's cheaper or better value.

That really bugs me.

Most of the time I just don't feel like carrying an extra-super-duper-ultra drink around with me. It's not easy to carry. They do it at movie theatres too.
