Or better still, this "car", and a rule that he has to permanently (for 3 months), always tow his "favorite" thing...

I wonder if this linkedin profile is really his?

I like the "I am (probably) a presenter on the BBC2 motoring show, Top Gear." on the page.

Makes you wonder whether this was intentional, to move to a more lucrative deal with a different channel.

Why? If his/their contract/s were all set to expire in April anyway, just do a few more shows until the end of the season and walk away. This doesn't do anything for that situation one way or another.

I agree, this is playing out more like a PR stunt.

Depends what clauses are in the contract.

Why would Clarkson hand himself in when he's on a final warning?

Could even be a delay tactic for the Ferrari / Porsche / Mclaren race if timing is an issue given they are nearing the end of the season (though unlikely).

It's good to speculate 😎

+1 for best tinfoil hat. I'm with you bro, this is one juicy farce. Or juicy fart. Either way.

I think the big lug is just tired of dealing with producer and TV types of people and lashed out. Can you imagine how hard it is to have someone telling you what to say, how to act, and how to look 24/7?

This.....

Also take into account his 'Bosses' at BBC make much less than Clarkson (BBC 'CEO' director-general makes ~500,000GPB/year) so that might cause some to have a chip on their shoulder too. They have been on this case, allegedly for the past 1-2 years and makes me think the recent 'stunts' are just ways for him to get back at them. This was just the boiling point, probably. Unfortunately, sometimes we blow-up at someone who might not be the cause of our issues, but that's just what happens.

Top Gear has been Clarkson's show for a LONG time. I doubt this is all a PR thing to jump ship. He can portray a certain kind of man on the show, but that doesn't seem to be how we would want to go out on his own terms.

All conjecture, but hoping they work this out.

"U.K. publication Driving reports that Top Gear producers are still editing already filmed segments of the remaining three episodes of Season 22. Driving has learnt from a source within the BBC that these episodes will be broadcast at some date regardless of the outcomes of the ongoing investigation. Alongside wrapping up editing of these episodes, it is also suggested that the crew at Top Gear is still pushing forward with its bonus episode featuring a comparison test between the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari."

People still watch Top Gear? Really?

This is not a car enthusiast show, it's simply family entertainment......circled around cars.
