anyone else see a corollation between age and ethnicity and teh type of vehicle one drives. This is not an attack, but most non-Caucasian people and japanese cars. I do not know a single oriental person who owns a domestic car, and latinos love the hondas.

BBD, i'm glad you have to turn to attacking me now. Hey, how's that chick that dumped you doing?

i dont understand how anyone can compare a civic to a camaro. That is what boggles me, it doesnt matter how many horsepower you get out of it per liter, because more is better. I think you swhould list the mods you have done to your car, and we will tell you if its a riced out one or not, how is that?

thats my point, i have done jack to it. you just assume cause I have a civic i am rice??!?!?

ugh...i hope this is just a stupid misunderstanding cause you are just stereotyping.

mods:
intake (who hasn't done this??)
2.25" cat (not some high pitched sound, actually its not loud at all)
took out 2" drop springs cause made car rub when i got new wheels. hated to lose the fact that i felt NO BUMPS...made it drive smooth as hell. but i had to put factories back in so i wouldnt kill the tires and throw the camber off majorly.
exhaust (no not some 8" pipe..more like 1.5...slightly bigger than stock exhaust)
reason is, you cant put a big pipe on a civic...at least not 6th gen, cause they have a round cut...and it would look wierd. i like my tasts, cause yes i hate coffee cans too.

the rest of stuff is audio. kenwood flip face, and infiity kappa speakers all around. limo tint all around. no stickers aside from vtec STOCK one. I was forced to get rims when my factories got stolen (which i posted - hey insurance covered it, why not??) and they arent so choromed polished that i blind mself, i hate that crap. but thats me, if you like it im not gonna friggin put you down about it and call you lamb chops or something.

dont believe me?? i already provided this: proud to BE RICE FREE

<< and we will tell you if its a riced out one or not, how is that? >>

who died and nominated you god to begin with?? in the sake of ending this, you have my car in detail above. i hope it passes your standards, otherwise come down to houston, we will fix it how you want it. is that ok with you?? i mean, its not like the car is mine...since its a civic and all.

ps: is that a taurus in my driveway??? is there a cavalier in my garage?? but i thought i hated domestic?? geez...the only thing i hate are macs.

bigbootydaddy - nice to hear you like Trans Am's. Also my personal favorite of the fbodies. Much more expensive than its sister car the Camaro however, because it comes standard with nearly all the options of the Camaro, t-tops, cd, leather, etc. There is a WS6 Trans Am on a lot by my house that at least 3 times a week I stop by and sit in it, just wishing. ;) but its not for me.. the shiny new Corvette on the chevy lot down the street is for me. :)

anyway, whoever said that this is rediculous comparing civics and fbodies is right. One is a muscle car, one is an economy car.

anyway, like I said Supras are okay, don't like their look, and I only buy american, but they are decent. I still prefer a big American mega-horsepower mega-torque, mega-displacement V8 with loud deep exhaust and my rear wheel drive. I have pride for my coutry and the cars we make. ;)

trust me you dont wanna know.

one thing that bugged me...the girls stuff.who cares if your car can pick up girls??if i had a ferrari or a pinto, girls who come after cars are no good. im glad my ex was clueless to cars and had her mind more focused on life itself that some box on wheels.

guess we gotta stop and see how overboard we go sometimes.

lol.. bootydaddy, your missing the whole point. fast girls who drop their panties for fast cars aren't there for relationships. they are there for weekend bedroom fun. :Q nothing bad about them at all. ;)

when it comes time to settle down for a relationship, then its a different story.

and ugly as it may be, youi can't be half-assed in your support for your country. I stand behind the aztek, ugly as it may be, its still uniquely american.

surely you don't think that an ugly car has never come from overseas

true, it is different weekend vs relationship.

but i dont think its worth the risk to "get a girl" over a car. if she does it for you shes done it for a dozen others. ewww.

those stains dont come out of the seats.

Man, I don't know how you can like a car based solely on the country it came out of. America isn't renowned for quality and reliability (recently things have been changing). Every country has its sore spots, US has the Aztek, Europe has the Yugo...so on and so forth. I just don't understand how you can have pride for everything that comes out of the US, cause some of it has been a sorry excuse for engineering.

I dont prefer fbodies or corvettes to imports only because they are american, but it certainly helps. I will never buy an import, however, even if it is better quality. I'm sick of the japs taking over american business in this country, but my politcal believes aside, I am attracted to fbodies because of their looks and proven superior performance. Same thing for the Corvette

I'm sick of the japs taking over american business in this country Hey, if you could do it better it wouldn't happen.

So you wouldn't buy German either? I know a guy who refuses to buy Japanesse cars "cause of the war", but all they drive is German. Go figure!

Umm, the biggest 2 Japanese manufacturers make their cars in our country, thus giving us more jobs... so how are they "taking over"

the Germans didn't bomb us on OUR territory. And no, I will never drive a Jap car, nor German or Italian or anything else. At least not until I'm 40 or older. even then, no rice burners for me, maybe I'd drive a BMW or Mercedes, but for now, Corvettes and Vipers give me plenty to have fun with

I didnt say thats why I dont buy imports. someone said that they knew someone who didnt buy jap cars because of the "war" but didnt mind buying german cars.. I was offering a possible reason why they would do that, because the japanese actually attacked us on american soil, took the initiative to attack us, while the germans didnt do that

I prefer domestic cars because the traditional big engine high displacement mega horsepower loud exhaust rear wheel drive vehicle excites me, while buzzing and/or whiney 4cyl front wheel drive compact econoboxes make me want to vomit

dude, the only domestic cars with big engines are the F Bodies, Mustang, Viper and Corvette. It's not a tradition anymore so much as a tradition of the 60s/70s. I know you like huge engines, but there's only a handful of cars that still exhibit that combination. I'm with ya tho, big engines can be a lot of fun, and I'm not knocking them in any way - I love Camaros, Corvettes, and Vipers (esp, Vipers :)). But there's an equal thrill in a lower displacement 4 cyl engine. A stock turbo 4 can pull as hard as a smaller V8 if that means anything to you :)

it may be as quick, but its just not the same, sorry. driving a fast 4 or 6cyl is not the same as a fast V8, and FWD is REALLY not the same as RWD..

plus nothing drives me more insane than the whine of 4cyl exhaust, especially magnified 100 fold thru a big 8" pipe

Hee hee - I love how lathered-up people get about their cars. I think the verdict is clearly in that RWD and larger-displacement (and the torque that comes with it) are more fun than the alternatives, but for most of us raw performance is only part of the car-buying equation.

I frankly kinda disliked my Integra GS-R for its lack of torque (I imagine I would feel the same way about a Civic Si and probably an S2000 for that matter), but I would as soon buy a Daewoo as a Trans Am/Camaro (those anniversary-edition TAs are so bizarrely tastless and overdone that I would not drive one in public without a mask on). No doubt many others feel the same way, as GM is eliminating those cars for 2002, after years of having the Mustang outsell the two GM cars combined. IMO the Si is a tremendously appealing vehicle for a young buyer who is more willing to tolerate the buzziness and lack of torque than I am, but the Mustang GT also has a lot of marks in its favor as a price/performance package.

I ended up getting a 2001 Maxima SE recently for its appealing combination of performance and comfort; I hope one day I can afford an M5 and get it all in one car!

Of course they don't drive the same, I never said that. I said that a stock Turbo 4 can pull as hard as a small V8. And when I say that I'm referring to the Turbo 4s that I like (The lat 80's early 90's Mopars), which do NOT have a buzzy effect to them (bigger displacement and way lower compression makes for a more throaty sound). Plus the Turbo helps make the exhaust note deeper. So I'm not even talking about Imports here...
