Anyone read any articles covering what is expected from this next add on?

Maybe add even more features that were already available in SMAC to Civilization 4?
(my complaint aside, hopefully they will offer the two expansion packs as a bundle so that I can get a discount for buying both, have yet to buy the first expansion pack)

Here's the Civ Fanatic's BTS info thread.

From the link in this thread they say everything from Warlords is included in the next one except the scenarios. (Which is a reason to still get the warlord pack at some time as several of them are very fun.)
All epic game content from Warlords will be included in BTS. Scenario content will not be included.
The Warlords scenarios are not worth $30 ($5-10, maybe). Get BTS and don't look back - if you don't already have Warlords, it's a no-brainer...if you do (like me), I'd wait for a sale.Originally posted by: Schadenfroh

I assume "epic" content refers to all of the warlord features (like vassal states)?
I might have to pick this up, probably going to get it via steam because of the use of SecuROM in the expansion pack (I do not own Warlords).
So, the warlords content worth the extra $30 or should I just get Beyond The Sword (this is going to be mainly for my notebook to play offline when I lack internet access).

I heard they didn't take the proper time to balance all the units in BTS. Another rushed expansion, used to generate $$$$. I'll be sticking to my regular copy until Civ5 releases, or the DS game comes out.

According to CAG, BTS is going to be $15 at CC the week beginning 8/5. Good for the people waiting on a sale![]()

I like it. My buddy and I just played a game. You've got to be careful for that new, Classical-era UN (I forget what it's called). Somehow Saladin created it and had like 90% of the votes and thus won. I have no idea what happened, how it happened, or why it happened. Saladin and I were about tied in empire size and power, so it caught us by surprise.
By the way, The Great Wall is fantastic.
Screenshot from that game
You can get better content than the Warlords scenarios just by downloading mods off the internet. You can definitely skip it. BTS has all of the game content (vassal states, great generals, new wonders, etc.) which is the important stuff.Originally posted by: Schadenfroh
