lol another circ thread on AT, how shocking.

Personally I think it's a solution in search of a problem to solve. It's a barbaric practice that is no longer relevant in society and is honestly just pointless mutilation. You can try to justify it all you want by saying its healthier/safer but you're likely only trying to convince yourself. Routine infant circumcision is a disgusting but widely accepted social norm that needs to end in my opinion. Give the child a choice what to do with his own body instead of imposing your own selfishness on them.

Infections from people being lazy and not properly cleaning their winky?

lol no. Completely for religious subservience, nothing more. The notion of health was added to make people feel good about it after the fact, as evident by the fact that it serves no actual hygienic benefit.

People once tried things like piercing their testicles as a way of curing terminal illnesses. Luckily that never got itself integrated into any religions which survive to this day, though there are many silly superstitions that are still around.

- knock on wood
- 13
- 4
- 666
- black cats
- walk under ladder
- breaking a mirror

If someone cut off his kid's hands for cosmetic reasons, he'd be locked up for some kind of assault charge. Cut off his foreskin though? Go for it.

(Just think of how many diseases are contracted because of everything you handle every day. Right there is a genuinely valid reason to cut off those filth-ridden hands.)

It was probably a good idea, when it was used by people living in a desert without soap and running water.
Though there's nothing quite like a freshly-sandblasted scrotum to make you feel truly alive.

Agreed. Strange how we have a double standard between routine male and female circumcision in this country.

What about the camp where you think everyone makes way too big a deal of it? Some people act like the meaning of life is wrapped up in a flap of skin on your wanker.

Circumcision used to be a cutting edge practice until some dickheads complained.

And we wonder why their terrorists?

Personally I think this is why America is so aggressive as a nation.

You have your religious types telling you sex before marriage is bad and they lop off the end of your dicks so you cant masturbate properly either.

If you weren't all so sexually repressed you'd probably stop invading random countries.

Considering how much circumcision reduces HIV transmission, every male in Africa should be circumcised.

Who in their right mind invented this thing? Someone sat around one day and decided lopping off a little bit of their swhantz was a good idea?

Then they went around and convinced other people to lop off a bit of their swhantz? I can't even begin to imagine how that conversation went.

Nor can I imagine the conversation when someone said:
"Hey, join this new Jewish religion. It's great."
"What do I have to do to join?"
"Stick out your shwantz"

I get it that before tv and the internet people were bored, but wtf?
Freaky stuff.

you sound Jewish. surely you understand this already?

Considering the health conditions that existed in the world as a whole, and in the Middle East in particular, when the Jewish tradition of circumcision began, and the fact that one who is not circumcised should go to a little extra effort in the cleaning department, I would beg to differ with your assertion.

But not enough to actually argue about it.

It's too bad EatSpam doesn't post here no more, pretty sure he was the only cut ATOT member who is on a crusade against the practice.
