I'm not the one comparing our country to Satan and Hitler am I.
No, but I'll agree with her. I think George W. Bush and his administraion are and represent pure evil.
"Satan" is just one of many metaphoric names for evil. If you go beyond that and throw your religion at me, I'll just laugh at you.
Hitler is often used as another metaphor for evil, but he his cronies were real and as evil as could possibly exist. If you examine the objectives and methods the Bush administration has used, you'll find strikingly frightening similarities.
They took the country to war based on lies.
They continue to foster divisive hatred among Americans based on religion.
They continue to exceed and abuse their legal authority to subvert best interests of all citizens under the guise of laws speciously named to imply the opposite of their intended effects and simultaneously rewarding. A couple of examples include:
The Clear Skies intitiative -- Intended to subvert pollution standards and reward polluters.
The Patriot Act -- Intended to subvert our civl rights formerely guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.
The recently passed energy bill -- Rewarding the same oil companies with tax breaks while currently tearing us a new asshole with record fuel prices. It's interesting that the cost of crude is only a small part of the cost of fuel. While Americans are paying record high prices for fuel, oil company profits are also at record highs.
The Bush administration lies without conscience to further their own perverted objectives. They lie to smear those who oppose them. They lie to cover their own illegalities and inadequacies. They spread their lies as propoganda intended to hide the falicy behind their very existance.
How much do you want? I could pile half the threads in P&N into this one post, and I wouldn't cover half of the lies and deceit the Bushwhackos have foisted on the American people or one tenth the damage they have done to the country and the world.
They are arguably possibly the most malevolent adminstration in U.S. history, not because we haven't had bad administrations in the past, but because they haven't learned better in light of our past bad examples.
If Cindy Sheehan chooses to compare Bush to satan or Hitler, I believe she's on solid ground. :|
