I'm not sold on the idea they are bad for you. I have never missed a beat in over 32 years, due to smoking. I suppose when I want I could quit, but why? I enjoy it.
Oh, I suppose that I'm gonna hear all the stuff, like;

I drive a big gas guzzling SUV, because I can, and because I know how much some people hate them, but then again, I don't care what people think. I'm wasteful and excessive in all my endeavors. I don't care when I throw a half a steak down the garbage disposal. I don't do leftovers, and I definitely don't care what people think. I like to listen to my music very loud. I don't care what people think. Tonight, I started to care a little about what people think, when that cop came to the door and told me to turn my music down.

The studies have been done with chemically treated tobacco.
The tobacco in commercial cigarettes has ammonia compounds in it to free base the nicotine to make it more effective and thus more addictive.

To say nothing of the pesticide applied during storage or the concentration of radioactive elements from groundsoil.
I still quit and won't be starting again, but the science against "tobacco" per se is very very weak.
