Sigh.. Why do pseudo-intellectuals always call it "Church," as if it's one organization with one set of beliefs? I've seen churches that preach hate and others that were instrumental in the civil rights movement..
I have similiar beliefs. Also, the more modern view of creation is that god set into motion what would be equivalent of the "big bang". I guess this comes from in the bible where they talk about light emerging from darkness. The whole 6 days/nights or whatever is just a story to help people understand it. So basically some more scientifically inclined modern Christians believe that god (timeless) created a set of rules and time, and set the whole thing in motion. If you consider the creation in the bible to be a metaphor, it surprisingly actually works pretty well with current scientific views of how the universe was created.
I guess it just depends on how you interpret the bible, and which churchs theory you are referring to.
Why would this disprove church theory? (Honest question.. it very well might). Does it say somewhere in the bible that earth is the only planet that contains life? I always just assumed it said that god created the universe, so what's to say he didn't (hypothetically) sprinkle some life in other places.
Yet you click on them and continue to post in them....
And platypii try to hump giraffes. And people walk into burning buildings.
Thisfail thread is fail.
I see a page with a big selection of videos?
Also, what church are you talking about and what do they discredit? Not all churches believe "life is only on Earth."
I thought this was about chicken.
You're are correct.fail thread is fail.
who is churchs and what's his theory again?
I think the only people in "Church" who don't accept science are the Young Earth Creationist Sarah Palin supporters. You know, the same people who are also "Birthers" and Fox News talking heads.
I have a feeling the OP thinks that all people that are religious go around knocking on people's doors and yelling GOD IS GREAT PRAISE JESUS! and think that the Earth was created in 7 days and is only 6000 years old. This bugs him, and he has little else in life to make him feel superior, so he has to keep pointing this out.
I linked to Church's thesis earlier in the thread.
Turing's version is better though.
