If you want to tow, be a real man and get a truck. They even come with full size cabs and leather like the JGC and get around the same mileage but more utility.

FYI, I have a truck, but somehow I don't feel like that makes me more or less a man. Your inane responses just makes you seem like an asshole.

I was being facetious, but why don't you tow with your truck? Is it a 4 banger or something?

Where did you get the idea that I don't tow with my truck?

So you own a JGC or you're just commenting? If you're commenting that it's an "epic win" for towing, I figured you had one and were speaking from RL experience. Otherwise you would know that you can tow up to 3500 lbs with 3 of the 4 I listed. https://www.midstaterv.com/ind...blogger=rex&Itemid=370">Check this out.</a> Big boats, no, but lightweight campers/boats yes. Depends on your needs ultimately.

All things considered, the trucks I listed above tow way more than the JGC, also provide a comfy ride on/off road, have more interior/exterior space, and are comparable in price and mpg. Unless you have a small garage I don't see any reason to buy a JGC over those trucks, but that's probably why its sales have been dropping over the years. Marketing needs to create a new identity because it's just mediocre in many areas and other vehicles specialize in meeting needs better.

Wow, you're a tool.

First you compare the JGC to a bunch of light duty SUVs, then you compare the JGC to a bunch of Large pickups to prove what an "epic fail" this is going to be. Try comparing apples to apples next.

I currently own a pickup with deisel engine, to tow my 5500 pound camper. The JGC would make a suitable replacement for my truck as a towing/all purpose vehicle if I was looking to replace it. One of the nice things about the JGC is the shorter wheelbase compared to a pickup. It would make a much better daily driver than a large pickup truck, but I guess you just don't understand.

Whoopdefckingdo, a shorter wheelbase while sacrificing a bunch of cargo/passenger space?

You admit that light duty SUV's are better for commuting and better for families due to more interior space and better mpg than JGC's, yet it's not "apples to apples" because light duties tow 3K lbs less. Give me a break. Now you say it's not "apples to apples" because trucks don't have as short a wheelbase yet fail to realize they provide just as comfy a ride, more space, same offroad capibility, and tow more for the same price. Yet it's still not "apples to apples".

Furthermore, you claim that JGC would make a "much better daily driver" than trucks but then fail to give a reason why. Mpg, smooth/comfortable ride/price are comparable as I proved in previous posts by edmunds. Did you even read the negatives for the 2009 JGC? From edmunds:
"Cramped backseat, limited cargo space, a true gasoline glutton, bouncy highway ride."

Still think it's a better daily driver than a truck? The facts say otherwise:

Ram Pickup 1500:
Unmatched ride quality for a truck, well-made interior, nifty storage spaces, powerful Hemi V8, loads of interior space.

Silverado 1500:
Refined and quiet ride, solid fit and finish inside, seats are comfortable for long drives, comprehensive list of safety equipment.

F-150:
Smooth and quiet ride, multiple cab and bed configurations, beefy towing and hauling capacities, attractive and functional cabin, responsive handling.

Sierra 1500:
Refined and quiet ride, pleasing fit and finish inside, seats are comfortable for long drives, comprehensive list of safety equipment.

Only a "tool" would fail to realize these facts are why the JGC declines in sales year after year. To reiterate: the JGC is trying to do too many things at once and not specialize in anything. You don't sell vehicles by doing this. Reality is hard to accept in your narrowly defined, "apples to apples" world but it's ok. BTW, next time bring facts to your argument or don't post at all.

How are you comparing a JGC to full size trucks? They are different beasts. I leased a 2004 JGC and that thing drove great and had lenty of room. The only thing pickups are better at is handling dirty items. My wife is still mad that we got a pickup after the lease was up instead of keeping the JGC.

Did you get a truck with a fullsize cab?

If you didn't, your wife probably wouldn't have cared, especially if you got a cap for the pickup bed, much more more storage room with more interior space with a fullsize Crew cab (4 doors). As far as function@ same price, they're not different beasts. There isn't anything a truck can't do that JGC can except fit in a smaller parking space and turn shorter.

these things were such crap. Sad how many people bought them because they wanted to maintain there yuppy image and now their resale value has plummeted to near minivan levels.
