Strikes me as pump and dump on a grand scale: private equity owners boost sales and short-term profitability then cash-in by taking the company public or otherwise reselling and leaving the burden of liability to others.

..what's the timing on such a senerio?? They have expectations for sales. If they're not met then what?? Go up for sale again?

This sounded interesting, so I opened a CR issue to see what kind of cars they offer. They're all crap... :(

chargerRT/300C aren't bad for large sedans. crossfires are nice for a coupe, plus oyu can get a huge deal on them (they've sold poorly, so dealers should be pretty willing to move them fast). otherwise yeah, the rest of chrysler's product lineup (minus a few jeeps and dodge viper and ram) sucks bigtime. the avenger/sebring was a real disappointment, IMO.

I dunno, sales of the Sebring/Avenger are up 300%, IIRC. Chrysler has never really had a competitive midsize car, though

My parents have a sebring. I know its engine light came on shortly after bringing it home, and the dealer fixed it...don't think they've had much other trouble though. My parents barely drive though, they own their own business thats attached to their home and put way more miles on the delivery vehicles then they do the cars.

I will say one thing about the sebring...I hate how damn close the windshield is to your face while you're driving it.
