Chrysler edged out the rest of the field with a No. 1 ranking in Strategic Vision's Total Quality rankings.

"Strategic Vision president Alexander Edwards said that problems per vehicle have declined dramatically since 1997, and are no longer a valid measure on their own, because variation between brands is relatively small. Therefore, their survey includes customer perceptions of quality as well."

Top car in the lineup is the Dodge Charger. No surprise there.

the last place in objectivity would be "allpar.com"; that is Chrysler mouthpiece.
A biased website is not grounds for commiting shoot the messenger fallacies. Critical thinking involves evaluating statements made, not just operating under mindless shortcuts.

They are not citing themselves as a source.

Why did their quality chief resign not too long ago? Or was he fired?

Quality chief leaves FCA amid recalls, poor reliability

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV's chief quality officer is leaving the company amid worsening reliability ratings and a potential recall investigation into millions of cars and trucks.

The automaker on Tuesday announced that senior vice president of quality Doug Betts has "left the company to pursue other interests." Betts, an industry veteran and Chrysler quality chief since 2009, has been replaced by two people: Mark Chernoby, who will head quality for FCA, and Matthew Liddane, who will lead quality in North America for Chrysler Group.

The executive shakeup came a day after all but one of Chrysler's U.S. brands ranked at the very bottom of Consumer Reports' annual reliability study and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration agreed to review a request to open a formal investigation into 4.9 million 2007-14 Chrysler vehicles. Those vehicles are tied to electronic failures linked to stalling, air bag non-deployments, unintended acceleration and fires.
A company spokesman said "no comment" when asked if Betts' departure was related to the potential recall investigation and poor reliability rankings.

Chrysler historically has performed poorly in Consumer Reports' reliability ratings, but this year could have been the straw that broke the camel's back. The Auburn Hills unit of FCA performed the worst of any automaker in the annual rankings, with Dodge, Ram, Jeep and Fiat at the bottom of this year's list of 28 brands. The company's namesake Chrysler brand ranked 22nd, down four places from a year ago.

Some of Chrysler's brands — especially Jeep and Ram Truck — have been flying out of dealerships. Michelle Krebs, AutoTrader.com senior analyst, said Chrysler's low reliability ratings could derail that success: "They are doing really well in sales, but if consumers have a bad experience in terms of reliability, will they have repeat customers?"

Betts, a member of FCA's Group Executive Council, leaves the automaker two months after Chrysler said it was reorganizing vehicle safety efforts into a new office of Vehicle Safety and Regulatory Compliance led by Senior Vice President Scott Kunselman. Previously, Chrysler housed auto safety in its global engineering group.

Strategic Vision is a research-based consultancy with over thirty-five years of experience in understanding the consumers' and constituents' decision-making systems for a variety of Fortune 100 clients, including most automotive manufacturers. Its unique expertise is in identifying consumers' comprehensive, motivational hierarchies, including the product attributes, personal benefits, value/emotions and images that drive perceptions and behaviors, using ValueCentered® psychology. Strategic Vision also uses comprehensive algorithms and discriminating scales that measure customer love and go beyond typical outdated and ineffective satisfaction scales. ValueCentered® psychology and research methods were defined by Darrel Edwards, Ph.D. in 1968, and enhanced by co-founders J. Susan Johnson (1972) and Sharon Shedroff (1975).

What the hell? I've never heard of this company but they would have you believe that Fiat and Mini ranked among the highest in total quality? I'm calling bullshit on that one.

I'm less concerned with safety ratings than I am quality overall. All the Chrysler products that the company I work for has owned for the last 13 years has been total junk. We have to replace u joints every few months let alone everything else that constantly breaks down. Now 3 months into the new Dodge Ram trucks and already with the master cylinders and 1 of them the passenger door seal leaks. Even the Chrysler 300 literally had the fuel tank almost fall out and front bearing go out and it was maybe 4 years old, I noticed the bearing issue being quite common with a lot of Chrysler's sedans. I wouldn't buy anything related to Chrysler.

Every time I rent a Chrysler, the interior looks like it's made by Rubbermaid.

The Total Quality Index goes beyond problem-counting to include other aspects measuring other aspects of consumers’ experiences with their new vehicle.

Strategic Vision president Alexander Edwards said that problems per vehicle have declined dramatically since 1997, and are no longer a valid measure on their own, because variation between brands is relatively small. Therefore, their survey includes customer perceptions of quality as well.

So, effectively, it's a study of how effective Chrysler's advertising is.

I drove a 2015 Chrysler 300C in California for a week and loved it. I've always been partial to the Charger, Magnum, Challenger, and 300 though. I think those are great cars.

Fiat is the slowest selling car line in the US. Chrylser was not far ahead, either.

http://247wallst.com/autos/2015/07/19/fiat-is-slowest-selling-car-in-america/?ref=yfp

Not only does Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (NYSE: FCAU) have trouble improving sales of its Fiat brand, Fiat is also the slowest selling car in America based on the carefully followed “days to turn” yardstick.

Days to turn for Fiat in June were 107, compared to the industry average of 63. Also among the troubled brands by the same measurement were General Motors Co.’s (NYSE: GM) Cadillac (100 days), Ford Motor Co.’s (NYSE: F) Lincoln (98), Mitsubishi (94) and Chrysler (91).

At the other end of the spectrum were Subaru, with an extraordinary 22 days, Toyota Motor Corp. (NYSE: TM) (40), Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus (44), Audi and Honda Motor Co. Ltd. (NYSE: HMC) each at 46 and Mercedes-Benz (48).

Fiat has several strikes against it. In June, sales of the Fiat brand fell 30% to 3,137. Sales for the first half of 2015 dropped 13% 21,798.

Fiat’s grade in the J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study was dead last, with 273 problems per 100 vehicles sold.

Instead, Fiat has become a boat anchor dragging on the parent’s sales and a major embarrassment for the manufacturer.

Number one selling truck isn't even on the list. Some of those categories have only two competitors and in some of those, they both won.

Calling bullshit. What a useless "index."

I don't know what Strategic Vision is, but I do know that if they are claiming Chrysler is the overall highest-quality carmaker, their books are cooked.

I want to like Chrysler. I really do. But the Chryslers I've owned have left a bad taste in my mouth. The vision is great, but the execution is lacking
