you need to post pics of your house when you finish this product. Love to see different home decor styles on larger scales.
 
We have 4 dogs, their tails basically wipe any ornament off of the bottom 3 feet of our tree. Our tree has a lot of personal and cool ornaments of past animals, trips, etc. We have two trees, one in my office, and one in the living room. Both fake, but I don't do real trees anymore. My girl likes to lie by my desk under the tree. She is 5, and has an incurable cancer so she may be gone by next Christmas. The dogs keep the tree skirt hairy and messed up, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

That's heartbreaking. Do not let the dog suffer any longer than you have to. Do the humane thing...as much as it hurts.
 
I still need to put ornaments in mine. I put it up with just lights and some fake poinsettias to gauge how hard it is to keep the cats out of it. They definitely do like to play with it and pull out the poinsettias, so I'll probably put the ornaments anyway but I will have to avoid the bottom mostly.

Just remembered our office tree is probably at the CO where our office was before, I should swing by there some time to go pick it up.

Our tree - a real one. Had to get new lights this year because our old set was doing the whole "where not going to light up unless you pull out and reseat every bulb" nonsense. I needed one more set to get better coverage, which I did buy after we decorated. It will go up on next year's tree.

Edit:
There are definitely more lights on the tree though. I see now in this photo, it looks like a single wrapping. Function of taking a photo in daytime with LED lights.

It's a bit of an eye sore, but we have young children now, and they get to dictate how the tree looks, and they like COLOUR!
I saw some really nice programmable RGB lights that have a beautiful rainbow wave effect. But they were £120 for a 250 string, and our 10.5ft (~3.3m) tree 'consumes' a 2000 string nicely, and I don't feel like spending £780 on lights at present.
We maybe plan to get another 2000 string of mixed white (ice/warm) for next year and add those at the same time, so that we can have the colour when the kids are awake, and make it at least slightly more classy in the evening. Slightly.

Glad the old lady's home Boomer. Get a dwarf Alberta spruce from the nursery, then stick it in the ground after jul's over. You can deal with the fake tree before next year gets here.

I think your children nailed it. With so much colour it looks great and they did a wonderful job decorating it!
