It's a bit of an eye sore, but we have young children now, and they get to dictate how the tree looks, and they like COLOUR!
I saw some really nice programmable RGB lights that have a beautiful rainbow wave effect. But they were £120 for a 250 string, and our 10.5ft (~3.3m) tree 'consumes' a 2000 string nicely, and I don't feel like spending £780 on lights at present.
We maybe plan to get another 2000 string of mixed white (ice/warm) for next year and add those at the same time, so that we can have the colour when the kids are awake, and make it at least slightly more classy in the evening. Slightly.

That tree is magnificent ❤️

I had carpal tunnel surgery 6 days ago. I've gone on 3 walks in my town since, totaling about 6 hours. I have seen many magnificent trees doing so. A bunch were amazing conifers. No indoor tree could begin to compare.

@Muse Do you go out at dusk, or at night? See a lot of cool outdoor light displays that way…

The local fire prevention districts totally dress out some of their trucks in lights, bubblers, music, and Santa and Mrs. Clause and hit the neighborhoods during this season.

My 4 walks this last week since the surgery were daylight walks, so the decorations were not lighted by electricity. There are some pretty creative citizens here, though in various ways. I have been paying special attention to their landscaping... house architecture too. The weather's been exceptionally wonderful. Today, however, starts ~3 days of rain. 🙂 I could walk with umbrella but don't plan to.

Second tree, all chicken and farm theme. And after the dog tries to take the tree skirt outside. Great trees everyone. Happy holidays.

Our light parade drove past last week, they had an online tracker so we knew when to go outside to watch it pass by 🙂

That spruce would make nice beater wood for little projects to rough together. Very light, and fairly strong. Good time to buy a saw and an Alaskan mill ;^)

I'm kind of late to the game... I had been meaning to take a proper picture with my DSLR and never did. Here's a crappy phone pic for now. 😛 I originally put my big tree up but it's in rough shape then last minute decided to order this one and gave away the old one. So I literally put this up like a week ago then went on night shift so have not had a chance to finalize it yet.
