Yes, eventually if you are caught without the mark, you will be killed. Trust me, it will be worth it.

Oh yeah I have no doubt in my mind it will be worth it. If I can recall correctly you will feel a cold tingling feeling from being killed (read this some place) and bam! You'll be JUDGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nocturnal (or anyone else interested) Have you read the "Left Behind" series of books? Very good books, and although all of it may not be totally Bibically correct b/c people interprept Revelation different, they are still very good books and get at the urgency of becoming a Christian among many other good lessons.

Yes, I'm currently stuck on the first book. I haven't gotten around to finishing it but I do know about the series and I do enjoy them a lot. I want to purchase the second DVD that they just came out with not too long ago.

Holy crap you retards.

It's a replacement for the UPC, not a tag they'll be implanting in babies.

Seriously you guys have major reading comprehension issues. Go back on the short bus and finish your homework before you hurt someone with your massive stupidity.

Dude, finish the book and continue on in the series, you will be HOOKED espeically if that stuff interests you a lot in the first place. You started at a great time too b/c I believe books 1-11 are out now and #12 will be out in 8-12 months (I think, and I also heard that #12 will be the last one), so by the time you finish one book you jump right on to the next. I started when #8 was out and read #1-#8 all in a row and it was AWESOME...then I had to wait a year for #9, another year for #10, etc and it lost the continuity of it all. I'll finish #11 and #12 when they come out and then read the entire series from beginning to end again in one big shot.

For all of you who are in here reading this thinking WTF do you believe that crap for, please just butt out and leave this thread alone.

Anyhow, isn't that "the mark of the beast?" that is spoken about in the bible? Where everyone will eventually have this implanted chip and it will take over as a way of how we do business. It will be our driver's license, our id, our $, etc...

What are your thoughts? If this thread gets out of hand we can go ahead and start a private topic.

Thanks in advance.

WTF do you believe that crap for?

I am a Christian (Roman Catholic) and even went to Catholic elementary and high schools, and I don't even think like that. I have had my fair share of bible lessons, but # of the beast crap is retarded.

None of my teachers would take revelation that seriously, due to the surrealism of it.

Stop taking that crap so seriously. You cannot interpret Revelation using modern ideas and trying to fit them to some twisted tale written 1000 years ago.

On the other hand: it could lead us into becomming the Borg. That should be worrying you the most.

Well, let's take a look at a few things. I haven't read revelations in years so my memory may be a bit fuzzy but the general idea should be correct. This is just a post to show the connection between the symbolic events mentioned in revelation and how they can easily be connected with reality.

Revelations starts off all the bad things that happen by saying something like a mountain of fire will fall from the sky. To me that sounds an awful lot like a comet or meteor. We're certainly due for one of those. Not like it hasn't happened before.

Revelations says that all the 1/3 of the things in the sea will be killed. If a meteor stike were to hit the an ocean (which is most likely) that would be easily accomplished.

Revelations says the sun will be darkened for a period of time which I don't remember off the top of my head. Now, if the theory on the meteor is correct a strike large enough could easily cook off many of the worlds volcanoes. All that ash being released into the atmoshpere at once would, of course, blot out the sun. There have already been instances of this happening on a smaller scale.

Revelations says 1/3 of the waters will be poisoned iirc. Now, with a meteor stike would come earthquakes of course. Which could very possibly destroy many nuclear reactors. Nuclear contamination would certainly poison the water I'd think. The interesting part about this is it says something called "wormwood" will be responsible for the poisoning of the water. Now, in Russian, "wormwood" translates into cherynobyl. I think we all know what happened there. That is just a little too coincidental in my opinion.

And lastly, the mark of the beast which, according to the bible will be on you body and be needed to buy and sell iirc. I think we're certainly moving in that direction. No more theft, no drug sales, robbing a bank would be useless, ability to track criminals, sex offenders, and of course, terrorists. Anyone who doesn't think chipping will become mandatory in the next decade is high. Especially considering the terrorisim scare which sets this up perfectly.

Anyway, you can say revelations can't be taken literally but I can't really agree with you.

*sigh* I belive he's talking about the new feasibility of very small chips used for the purposes of tracking things. Unless you don't think something like this could be modified for people of course

And by not doing that the bible prophecises[sp] that people will be put to death.
That story isn't about putting the chips in people, it's about replacing UPC codes on products with a microchip. Quite a leap you are making......

No I know that. I meant like it's leading and getting further along up until a point where we'll eventually see something like humans being implanted with microchips to use for $ and identification etc.

Yep...Mark of the Beast, alright.

Glad you made that connection. We can all rest assured now that you've bridged that INCREDIBLY LARGE GAP IN LOGIC you made there.

Listen man, if you have nothing nice to say about this or put into this conversation, I asked nicely to stay out of the thread. What is so hard about understanding english?

Because the leap from chips in products to chips in humans (presumably to control certain aspects of our lives?) is completely an ABSURD one!!

I guess my grandkids will all be cyborgs.

That would be a good way to get implanted microchips normalized. "Think of the children!" After all, they have that LowJack system (SP?) for cars, why not for kids?

EDIT: They have the "Amber Alert" system after all, why not "Adam Chips?" (Just using that name as an example based on John Walsh's son Adam that was abducted and killed.)

It will not become mandatory ever. You guys are taking things way too seriously.

For you guys to be correct, it will require a conspiracy from every company and government to follow the book of Revelation (there is no s on it). Its not going to happen.

Who told you wormwood = cherynobyl? Stop paying attention to those that tell you that crap.

I am not a highly religious person, but, I was taught to beware of anyone trying to interpret the word of God. Only the true prophet of God (messiah) can do that. All others are false prophets.

Preachers interpret the Bible. Who ever taught you to beware of anyone tyring to interpret the word of God probably got that judgement from the bible, preacher, or someone who interpreted the bible.

On the other hand, I believe this has high potential to be the "Mark of the Beast". However, I won't have anything to worry about since I won't be here.

This whole thread is absurd as Revelation was not meant to be taken literally.

Its purpose was solely to give the Christians hope for the future. They were being persecuted, ostracized, fed to lions, etc. These prophecies were meant to give them hope that things would eventually be better and that they would be truly saved come Judgment Day.

At least that's what I was taught in a Scripture class in high school (a Catholic high school).

Usually people who "interpret" Revelation for you, have several issues of their own that need attending to. If you wish to do interpret it yourself, fine, but convincing others of your "correct" interpretation will lead you down a dark path indeed.

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I would think the "hope" would be the salvation Jesus offered. You don't need to live in the end times to be eligible for that. So I don't think a description of hell on earth was meant to give people hope, especially when you consider there is a much greater hope promised in the bible.

By the way, how can you say Revelation isn't meant to be taken literally? By literally I mean as a fortelling of events to come of course. Does it say anywhere in the Bible that it is just a story to give hope? Unless you can find where it does I don't see why you're basing your opinion on since obviously, the people who taught you that are just interpreting it themselves and the Bible doesn't back them up on their interpritation.

Revelations 1:1 "The revelation of Jesus, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon must take place"

Revelations 1:3 "Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

#1 I don't interpret anything. Do that for yourself
#2 Real Christians don't delude themselves about stupid interpretations of Revelation.
#3 Since I am Christian I am welcome in this post.
#4 If you decide that how you interpret the Book of Revelation should be the way everyone should interpret it, it will lead you on a similar path to others who have done the same thing, ie: David Koresh, Jim Jones.

And besides, what kind of fool posts a topic, but only wants replies from those who agree with what they say?

Time for you to grow up.
