This microchip that they're talking about, isn't it the mark of the beast?

For all of you who are in here reading this thinking WTF do you believe that crap for, please just butt out and leave this thread alone.

Anyhow, isn't that "the mark of the beast?" that is spoken about in the bible? Where everyone will eventually have this implanted chip and it will take over as a way of how we do business. It will be our driver's license, our id, our $, etc...

What are your thoughts? If this thread gets out of hand we can go ahead and start a private topic.

Or when Nazis were tattooing numbers on forearms.

I am a Christian (Roman Catholic) and even went to Catholic elementary and high schools, and I don't even think like that. I have had my fair share of bible lessons, but # of the beast crap is retarded.

None of my teachers would take revelation that seriously, due to the surrealism of it.

Stop taking that crap so seriously. You cannot interpret Revelation using modern ideas and trying to fit them to some twisted tale written 1000 years ago.


On the other hand: it could lead us into becomming the Borg. That should be worrying you the most.

I don't see it that way. I do see some potential problems, huge problems. They are not talking about implanting the chips (in that article at least) in people.

Hell, I threw a fit in the hospital over some of the wording on paper work that was required at the birth of my son that pertained to implants. It was a normal birth with no complications.

I had a fit over it. They wanted my wife to sign all of this stuff AFTER her epidural. I argued that she wasn't signing anything because she was under the influence. They did not want me to sign the papers (probably because I was reading them).

In the end, I won. We didn't sign jack that related to implants.

Anyway.....

if those things are implated in the clothes you buy its not all that hard to link the unique ID for that piece of clothing to your credit card with your name on it. then they could track you all over the place

I also agree with an earlier post and think that you can't take everything in Revelation literally. Some of the stuff talked about in there may not happen until after Jesus returns, or it may not happen here. Some of Revelation refers to a battle between the angels/demons that humans may not be directly involved in. Some of the other stuff is very far fetched but that does not mean it couldn't happen. Again I will stick to the theory that much of that stuff will not happen during this time period / deminsion / whatever you call it.
 
I just want to thank everyone who are participating in this mature conversation. Revelation and the end times just intrigue me.

The ID Chip they're using in pets would be closer to "The Mark of the Beast" than this, though they're probably the same or similar technology. Something like this only becomes "The Mark of the Beast" when EVERYONE has to have one to participate in certain programs.

For instance, if all those "club" programs at supermarkets were to collaborate and give you one ID card usable at all supermarkets that would be much closer to the "Mark of the Beast" as I see it. Then the card could eventually be preempted by an easy to use transdermal containing microscopic chips similar to the pet ID chip that can be absorbed through the skin once and be permenant.

I have my doubts that such identification would be visible to the naked eye. The vision given to John(?) only showed obvious visible marks to convey the message in a form that he would understand.

I was just wondering if you go to and read any websites that contain this kind of information?
 
It certainly has that 'potential' for "mark of the beast" material, but so do a lot of other things, e.g., microchips intalled under skin as is done for cats & dogs, etc.

Not sure it can realistically replace the simple bar code though.. at a nickel/transmitter I don't see how that price can be absorbed in lower priced items like you might find at the grocery store. Sounds kind of dumb for home use too, do we need orange juice? How hard is it to check the carton vs. looking it up by some electronic means?

I kinda thought that if you did not accept the chips -- you were supposed to be put to death and or be saved by the lord. Well I hope if we do go through this I go to where I really would like to be, Heaven.
