I have the same problem "with thinking for myself and seeing life for what it actually is" but happen to lean conservative...go figure.

Consider this...perhaps a worldview of highly polarized stereotypes of huge groups of people is not in reality "seeing life for what it actually is"...perhaps it's nothing more than ideologically driven self-delusion. Just a thought.
 
Political parties are false and immoral and have a far greater effect on our lives, but there are many here who bow to them nonetheless. Many are atheists.

To be sure the Catholic Church had it's Inquisitions and such and I'm not supporting any of that, but objectively you are going to find it a hard row to hoe to prove that nationalism and political struggles aren't responsible for most of the deaths in recorded history.

In modern days the churches can't imprison you for any reason. Political ideologies? Go to China and speak your mind. Stand against a tyrant in the Middle East. They can take your property for profit. We've done it here and have had supporters of it. They can't do any of the things they did a few hundred years ago. There was a time when the Church was more powerful than many European nations. They shared power with kings and emperors. In other lands the government ruled you in every way. The entire history if China is the subjugation of it's people by the royalty and bureaucracy. Kings have been replaced by Communists, but the heel has never left their neck.

Religion is so evil and passe, yet the evils that governments commit on their peoples is hardly commented on.

A faith in Authority to shepherd the sheep remains a plague on humanity. You are not removed from it, you rename and embrace it. Two hundred years ago we tried to restrain the Shepherd and failed.

I didn't tell you to stop, did I? But ridiculous and unnecessary isn't what the OP says. "False and Immoral" is. Considering that in this world people support oppression with an instrument that has teeth, it's a bit like saying after a car crash "Hey you got my windshield dirty". It may be true, but not entirely the most significant occurrence.

Well if you want to stick to the OP.

I'd say religion IS false, unless you can prove it other wise.

It wouldn't really matter if the people who believed this stuff kept it to themselves but they seem really keen on spreading the madness around.

And given the punishments Religions have just for not believing in them I'd say they were pretty immoral as well.

I get at least 50 to 1 where someone tries to sell me something at my house, on the telephone, or walking the street over some religous person trying to preach religion. Even Jehovah's witnesses don't bother you if you ask them. So you're just spouting nonsense. Nobody probably comes to your crummy house anyway, heheheheheheheh.
