Your ignorance of the political history of your own country is showing. Kennedy ran to the RIGHT of Nixon on national defense, decrying the "missile gap" with Russia and the somewhat obscure position of the Eisenhower admin NOT to go to war with mainland China if they attacked and occupied the small islands of Quemoy and Matsu.

If you have even ONE credible link that Khrushchev was delighted that Kennedy won, post it or admit your massive FAIL.

Perhaps even you remember Kennedy's inaugural speech, sport?

We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution. Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans?born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage?and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this Nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world.

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

It was before your time, little buddy, when both Democrats and Republicans alike were ALL fierce cold warriors.

I really can't stand prattling ignoramuses like you who don't even know relatively recent American history, and so confidently spout unsubstantiated bullcrap.

Following your analogy further, I assume McCain is another Richard Nixon? Maybe that is why he is so obsessed with Joe the Plumber (the Whitehouse Plumbers was the common name given to Nixon's Watergate crew).

God, all we need is a Richard Nixon to follow a GWB. Why do you hate the USA?

Read this book, page 484:

http://books.google.com/books?...=4&ct=result#PPA484,M1

'In fact, he disliked Nixon intensely, regarding him as a McCarthyite cold warrior who had shown his true colors during his 1959 Soviet visit. Therefore, although he had met Kennedy only once, during their brief 1959 Senate encounter during which he told Kennedy he looked too young to be a senator, Kruschchev decided to 'vote' Democratic'

Kruschchev was so delighted by Kennedy's victory on November 4. Sergei remembered, that he positively "beamed with satisfaction. He jokingly referred to Kennedy's triump as a gift he had received for the anniversary of the revolution."'

Let's see how many times Obama talks about the Al Qaeda presence in Iraq in his inaugural speech.

The title of this thread is Christian right intensifies attacks on Obama. Face the facts, its all the one trick pony Christian right knows how to do. The question is and remains, will enough idiots believe them now?

I for one think they the religious right have worn out their welcome, right now, GWB&co is living testament to how wrong they are. They preach to an ever diminishing choir. The religious right will never die, but a ebb and flow of their appeal will forever delimit them. In 2008, they are clearly playing the wrong song.

Compared to Gore, Kerry, Humphrey, and McGovern? Nobody hates the USA other than the out of touch radicals that hijacked the Democratic party in these 4 elections.

The only time I hated this country was when I was in my early 20s and voted for slick Clinton in 1992.

Then I got a job.

Yes, we ALL who lived through that and were politically sentient remember that, the story that Kruschchev favored Kennedy.

It was "leaked" before the election, by the Russians.

At the height of the cold war, not one person with a brain believed this Soviet leak. It had the OBVIOUS smell of crude counter-ops.

Generally, the Soviets favored the Republicans because they felt that historically, the Dems had to act more hard ass and war like to shore up their American political position.

Truth is, THAT GENERATION were mostly ALL fierce Cold Warriors on both sides of the aisle.

Just a little stuff you can't replicate with a brief glance at Google.

You really need to smarten up some, at least on this point.

It's a non-starter, and laughably untrue.

At least you admitted that you hated America, even if it was only a brief time (so you say). I cannot say that I've ever hated America. I might have hated Bush and Cheney (and a few other warmongering fools) but not this great country. Might not like the direction it went or is going, but don't hate it. Fear for it? Sure...hate it? Never.

Al Qeada and the Soviet Union don't vote in presidential elections, fortunately, so I don't give a fuck what their preference is for President. If you do you're a fool.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The idea that terrorists are drooling over an Obama presidency seems to be a delusion in the mind of winnar111 and other fundie idiots. The fact is the Al-Quida has already endorsed McCain because they think he will continue the GWB policy of bankrupting America while continuing a phony war on terrorism that has the sad net effect of increasing terrorism.

As it is, all Al-Quida has to do is hang a portrait of GWB of GWB on the wall, and terrorist flock to join. McCain would have the same effect. But a voice of
reason like Obama's would do more to cut off Al-Quida's oxygen supply.

Reverse psychology. They think you're stupid, and you're proving them right.

Al Qaeda's membership is being killed in Iraq. They know it too.

4 months from now, they'll be back and ready.

I have to wonder, though, what the lefties will be saying if it happens....

Bankrupting the country? We dump more money into Medicare in a few months than Iraq in years and get nothing out of it; I guess Lyndon Johnson was a member of Al Qaeda when he created the program!
you are delusional. Al Qaeda did not even exist in Iraq until the US got there.

Will Palin still trust God if they lose?

Sarah Palin's recent comments to James Dobson re' the upcoming election make me wonder.

She said:

?And it also strengthens my faith because I know at the end of the day putting this in God?s hands, the right thing for America will be done, at the end of the day on Nov. 4.? and that the outcome of the election is "all in God's hands."

I'm surprised by the oblivious theological heresy in Palin's statement that God can determine an election. That's a direct contradiction of free will. God logically cannot intervene in an election without abrogating the free will of the voters. Palin is a heretic.

So, if she and McCain lose come Nov. 4th, will she either conclude that God considers Obama/Biden the "right thing for America" Or will she conclude that God's will was somehow subverted? Or she or her followers didn't have enough faith and God's punishing them. Or God's punishing America because of it's tolerance of gays/liberalism/whole wheat bread/whatever by inflicting Obama aka "The Antichrist" on us. Or agents of Satan changed the election returns with witchcraft.

If Obama wins, I'm sure Palin will accept it as God's Will, offer her full support to his divinely sanctioned administration, and publicly apologize for having mistakenly tried to thwart God's plans. She'll just have someone perform an excorcism on her campaign wardrobe, then move on.

American Fundamentalist Christianity is a cancer of cunning worthless individuals whose only ability is to convince other people to donate to them in return for a ticket to heaven. It is a disease that should be declared a business and taxed. Morons should be able to donate whatever they want to any con game they want, but the money should be taxes as well as church property. It is nothing more or less than a business that preys of weak minds, brainwashing them from infancy. This disease flourished in the mono-culture of the America Outback, where children are basically poorly educated.
