How is the director?

He did Insomniac and Memento. Rather odd choice for a super hero movie. But then again, Sam Ramis was an odd choice for Batman, and IMHO that turned out very well. With Nolan, I'd expect a much darker, and more elaborate plot/atmosphere.

If Christopher Nolan is directing, I'm definitely interested. Memento and Insomnia were excellent. I hope this is a return to the stuff that made the first movie so good and not an overhyped steaming pile of crap like Batman and Robin. The first movie was the only one that was worth watching, IMHO.

director Christopher Nolan has taken over the series, with the film based on another script, titled Batman: The Frightening, which features The Scarecrow as the lead baddie. [/i]

Thats cool I always thought the Scarecrow would make an awesome movie bad guy. Especially with a Tim Burton style of filming.

Crispin Glover would make a perfect Scarecrow.

Maybe now we'll see Bruce Wayne flexing his biceps in front of a mirror while hitting a chick from the back. 🙂

Christopher Nolan = teh r0x0rs!! 🙂

Another good Nolan flim was "Following". It was his 69-minute "warmup" before Memento. Leaves you with a similar feeling at the end.

Actually, Willem Dafoe would be better. 🙂

He was in "Little Women" too. 🙂

That's what I originally thought when I watched American Psycho for the first time. I'm like... isn't that Laurie? lol

So wrong 🙁

cool! christian bale is cool. i still have to check out that equilibrium movie.

it looks like chris nolan will be the director! (insomnia)

taken from movies.go.com:

The fifth installment was initially based on Frank Miller's graphic novel Batman: YO, a film-noir-infused, four-issue story written in 1987 and published by DC Comics that detailed Bruce Wayne's first year as Batman, including the self-doubts and blunders he had to overcome in order to emerge as a full-blown crime fighter. Now director Christopher Nolan has taken over the series, with the film based on another script, titled Batman: The Frightening, which features The Scarecrow as the lead baddie.

The Scarecrow? Interesting...hopefully whoever they choose won't be as god awful as Arnold as Mr. Freeze.

Willem Dafoe would be perfect! He's got the perfect psycho mad scientist look. But I doubt he'd want to be another super villain after doing the green goblin in spiderman. What a shame.

How about the consumate weird evil guy, Christopher Walken? DaFoe would be excellent as well

I'm so tired of movies using names and only names to attract people to see movies, so I'm glad to see they are NOT going to continue the recent tradition of movies being just another smorgasbord of stars like the past few batmans...not to mention every teen flick and kevin smith movie since clerks
