It's not that I found it funny, it's the FIRST thing that came to my mind when I saw the picture. The rest of you had better not lie and say that you didn't think it too...

Insensitive. Arrogant.
But funny as hell...

I see you're a republican

Did my quote by Stirner give that away....?
No I just dont really care about that kids plight.
My father was in vietnam ( 101'st Airborne) and I had an uncle in the marines ( force recon). My dad made it back, with a hole in his back. My uncle did not, but he got a really good spot on the WALL. If poisoning the whole place got my dad back alive along with a few other americans....then I consider the hellish life that kid will live to be worth it.

Oh, is that your justification? I suppose you sang and danced when you heard about the my lai massacre.

Of course we shouldnt... Skoorb had it correct in another post:

Hell no, if you want to go back and undo the wrongs of war (the criteria for which are very hard to pin down, as all are just varying levels of how many or how harshly you killed civilians) you would be at it a long time, going back to the dawn of time.

There have been war crimes forever.. so now the Jews are going to cause Germany to go bankrupt because of the MILLIONS that were slaughtered and left scarred for life? Unfortunately war sucks but it happens... and this politically correct world needs to wakeup to that fact. I dont like the current war, nor the vietnamese war cause the US shouldnt be the world police or justify its invasions as such (aka middle east and vietnam wars). MHO.

Should the US give $$ to Vietnam for the widespread use of Agent Orange?

from a couple of weeks ago...

My vote...no. It was war, sh!t happens.

So back in the first Gulf War when we were all screaming about the possible use of chemical weapons used on our troops, we should've shut up and just say "it's war, sh!t happens"

The question we should have asked was "Why aren't our soldier's chemical suits more functional."

I realize that most of this board has some sort of Asian heritage and thus get their panties in a twist everytime someone disagrees with their Asian-centric view.

Comdey is directly related to perspective. I'm sure you find some things funny others would might not agree with, like perhaps a cop getting shot providing gun safety training.

I'm sure that wasn't funny to the cop...

But go ahead and play the "republicans eat babies" card...

edit: oh, I don't think the companies are at all liable, but I think the gov't should do *something* I'm kinda torn... is there any kind or precedence for war reparations like this?

I'm a little confused on what 'asian-centric' view you're referring to.

Gotta love arrogant kiddies who think the world revolves around them. Maybe one day you'll grow up and realize that just because you live in America doesn't mean you can't be a waste of life.

Ah, nothing like a fvcking defoliant to kill some chromosones in premetastasis.

Welcome to the aftermath of the American war machine.

Where's the photos of the soldier who got cancer from the DU238 in the tank shells? Depleted unranium at it's best.

There's a big difference here...the cop got hurt because of his own stupidity.

I'm talking about the division that is quite noticable here between most folks.

Oh, are you that guy who somehow has a strong bias against asians even though this entire thread had nothing to do with the specific country but was about compensation for the use of chemical weapons? I think I remember you.

I dont think the world revolves around me. I am not self-centered. I just realize that it was war and I am glad that we used whatever methods available to protect american lives...
Is General Curtis lemay being a "arrogant kiddie" when in refrence to vietnam said "They've got to draw in their horns and stop their aggression, or we're going to bomb them back into the Stone Age.
"

No, he wanted to end the war through decisive means.
