Just listened to his convention speech.

The guy has an engaging personal appeal going for him. He's a pretty dynamic speaker. His personal back-story and approach are both devoid of Romney's stiff-necked, "born on third base and thinks he hit a triple" way.

If Romney loses, Christie could well be the 2016 GOP Presidential nominee.

He likes to portray himself as a corruption fighting, clean government type. But multiple instances from his own past actions paint a decidedly different picture:

I'd like to see those who wish to counter the cumulatively damning portrait these documented incidents portray do so with fact-based, linked and documented rebuttals, and not just rhetorical deflection.

I'd also like a pony. I'm not all that optimistic about either prospect. ;)

It was his stump speech for the 2016 election. He knows, as does any sane person, that Romney's going to lose. Christie was there to keep the base's spirits up.

I hope he's worrying more about living to 2016 than running in it. Guy looks like his heart is about to pop like a zit.

A tip of the hat to him again regarding putting some xenophobes in there place concerning the Muslim judge, that was a refreshing yet rare act of 'Btfu!' from the GOP towards it's idiots.

Will listen to the speech later, dying to know if the GOP has considered the hoi polloi worthy enough of hearing about all their great ideas and plans... *cough*

I did like his handling of the bs that arose when he appointed a Muslim judge however.

I liked it too, but it wasn't as purely principled as you might think. It would be political suicide to overly demonize Muslim in NJ:

New Jersey is one of the most ethnically and religiously diverse states in the country. As of 2011, 56.4% of New Jersey's population younger than age 1 were minorities.[41] It has the second largest Jewish population by percentage (after New York);[42] the second largest Muslim population by percentage (after Michigan);

Well, I suppose it's never too early to start smearing the 2016 crop of Republicans . . .

What I like about Christie is that he is not a pushover who lets the press control him. He does not sugar coat things, which is good since adults need the truth.

Those forum posts remind me of how Obama is acting right now. He campaigned against hiring lobbyists and for letting us see the bills for a few days before signing them into law...but we he violated them as fast as he could manage to do it.

Also, Obama is well known for hiring tax cheats into his administration - but since Christie simply made an error and was not a full on cheat, he was not offered a job.

You have to do better than that. Oh, and some of your links no longer appear to support what you said - they are very old.

Do you have any support for saying he was not being fair to the Muslim because it was the right thing to do?

Are you really not intelligent enough to truly understand my point, which is that he did what he did in the light of a strong Muslim voting presence?

He might well have also thought it was the right thing to do. One does not exclude the other, nor did I ever even hint that it did.

Your completely dishonest bullshit troll phrasing that entirely ignores the extremely germane fact that it would be politically unwise to overly demonize a Muslim in NJ is par for the course for you, TROLL.

Or is it just your personal view because you do not like conservatives?

Dishonest, bullshit, strawman "either/or" logical fallacy, with a bonus untrue and entirely unsupported attack assumption.

My father and my mother were both true conservatives. General of the Army Dwight David Eisenhower was a true conservative. William F. Buckley was a true conservative. Though our political positions often differ, I continue to hold all four in the very highest of esteem.

False dilemma (false dichotomy, fallacy of bifurcation, black-or-white fallacy) – two alternative statements are held to be the only possible options, when in reality there are more.

You are possibly the most worthless, dishonest and disruptive poster in P&N.

I saw a Twitter post that made me chuckle:

Christie's speech was like the best man at your wedding using his toast to tell the bride why she should have married him (Gerard Mulligan)

Looks like he sugar coats everything. Bacon, cheeseburgers, steak, Krispy Kremes.

Why do you instantly resort to insults instead of actually discussing the topic? Why do you turn the topic into a discussion about me? These are things you complain about others doing, yet you are right here doing them yourself. Just think about it a bit.

You have not shown me any support to your claim he did this for political reasons. That is fine, you are allowed to state your opinion, just you cannot claim your opinion is fact when you cannot support it.

My father and my mother were both true conservatives. General of the Army Dwight David Eisenhower was a true conservative. William F. Buckley was a true conservative. Though our political positions often differ, I continue to hold all four in the very highest of esteem.

Then support your opinion with some facts, or expound on your opinion. Is it just Christie you hate, if so why? Facts, though, not opinions you claim to be facts.

You are possibly the most worthless, dishonest and disruptive poster in P&N.

This is excessively vitriolic and absolutely out of line. I did not insult you once in this thread. You just out and attack me for challenging your position. You do so in a very excessive manner. You claim I am the problem...but I suggest you stop and look at your behavior here. Your post is far, far more aggressive and insult laden than anything I posted. I did not even insult you once, yet you decide to fire off insult after insult.

That his father went to college on government provided taxpayer money, and this fat fuck thinks any form government assistance is socialist?

Has Christie actually said any form of government assistance is socialism? Or are you exaggerating and projecting again?

I am not sure myself, don't hear too much about him here in WA, so do you have anything to back this up, where he actually said this?

I am guessing the source of irony is GI = gastrointestinal. That is what my gut tells me.

Jesus, you POS, dishonest, lazy troll. I just went back and checked every single, documented link that I quoted to support what I posted, since I did post them here back n 2011.

Every single one is still there word for fucking word, and is current.

Yet YOU say, "ome of your links no longer appear to support what you said." Back that up, or admit your lazy troll LIE.

Wow, you need a time out to cool your head. You are all psycho and in full crazy mode. Look at your posts and tell me you think they are not excessively vitriolic in nature. Be honest with yourself about it.

EDIT: Here is one of your links you use for support.

Show me the part the supports what you said in this post:

We both know it is impossible for me to show you something that does not exist. You demanding I show you something that does not exist only strengthens the view that you have gone off the deep end. Calm down, it is bad for your health. Take a few deep breaths, relax. This stuff is not important enough for you to have a brain aneurism or a heart attack over.

All too easy to predict. :(
