Chosen to be on Jury, its a murder case

I suspect you are already violating your duty as a juror.

either way, please continue to liveblog the goings-on here at ATOT, with a running commentary of your opinions in the matter, and how much you have already pre-judged the defendant.

Lol, the OP lives in New Haven. That means the defendant is guilty. Even if he isn't he's certainly guilty of something else. Convict the guy.

It's been said that:

Jury — A group of twelve men who, having lied to the judge about their hearing, health and business engagements, have failed to fool him.

So you clearly didn't lie well enough

I've managed to duck my way out of the jury summons I've received thus far. I hope to continue that good trend.

Lucky. I'd love to sit on a murder trial, would be fun I think.

Yeah, the grief stricken loved ones and having gruesome evidence presented to you and all the associated minutia would be a hoot.

Personally, I would say it could be an interesting and educational experience, but definitely not fun. This isn't an episode of CSI afterall, this is the real shit.

Except for the issues with not being able to go home in some cases, crappy food and payment, can be threatened by both the person you convicted guilty or by the public for voting not guilty, and you could lose your job if it's a lengthy one but as it's illegal to fire you only for that they make up a reason.

Never been called. I figure the odds of a single individual being called is quite slim. In a way, I think it would be cool, in another, I would hate the fact that it's forced. What if the trial falls on a day I have plans or something, or happens to be a work day and all my vacation is taken up? etc. But for a once in a life time experience I think it would be cool to do it just to say it happened. I'm guessing there's lot of stuff you have to keep confidential though. I'd be itching to tell everyone but know I can't. It's kinda like corporate gossip.

I think he isn't talking about he's on the jury but looking for pointers to influence it.

Don't know if he realizes masturbation isn't really murder.

Tell that to all the kittens we kill...

I was in one of the 12 jury seats for a murder trial, but the defense lawyer asked that I be dismissed during jury selection since I didn't agree that a criminal's testimony should carry the same weight as a cop's.

They ask if there is any reason why work or otherwise you wouldn't be able to perform as a juror.

The highlight of my jury duty on a murder case was when a citizen of Mexico stood up in front of the court and proclaimed that he was an employee of the Department of Homeland Security.

so you don't subscribe to innocent until proven guilty....interesting.

no I won't be doing that. I'll spill my guts once its over sometime in november.

Yeah, I was on the jury for a serious trial. The defendant ended up getting 100 years when I looked up the sentencing.
