As a Fort Worth resident for over 20 years, I'd have to recommend Nashville. Life is too short to live in Dallas.
Dave
Why you say that?
It's the motto of a famous BBQ place in Fort Worth... the Railhead. Goes back to a long rivalry between Dallas and Fort Worth. What most people fail to realize is that Dallas, Fort Worth, and Denton have grown into one large metroplex of 5 million+ people...

Never been to Nashville, might be nice if you can stand a pure white segregated city.

Pleasanton, CA (currently training here for a week)
Long Beach, CA
Unless you're pulling in a good six figures, you will be poor here. A moderate house in Pleasanton is a good million. They are cheaper in some of the surrounding cities (Sunnyvale, Mountain View), but cost of living here is insane.

And they call Southerners simple-minded. :disgust:
Having lived in TN most of my life, it's a great state to live in and Nashville is really becoming a great city. Lived in AZ for the last 7 years and always missed TN.

Nashville is a pretty cool, laid back, interesting city.

Pleasanton is nice, used to live in Dublin next door. You are close to Oak/Berk and SF. You can drive pretty much anywhere in the Bay Area in about 30 minutes or less. Houses are $700K+, but you get nice weather.
LA is a pit, but of course so is Dallas. Never been to Nashville, might be nice if you can stand a pure white segregated city.

Ok, not pure, it's like 80% white. I'm not positive how segregated it is, but it is the Bible Belt. I was just implying that it may not be as diverse as the Bay Area (but Pleasanton is mostly white too). It was not a knock against it, it would be my second choice of the cities listed.
