Chiropractice is pure BS... how did everyone buy into this?

I came across a youtube vid of chiropractic adjustment compilation.

I mean, we all know there's nothing sophisticated about cracking joints which is just releasing gas. The full stop is here. There's no further depth to this.

The compilation video of all these guys doing EXACT routine to EVERYONE makes it glaringly obvious that this is just BS. There is no custom approach or whatever to make you no longer misaligned or some hocus pocus BS.

Look at all their techniques. There's NO precision or any kind of science behind this - you just facking crack same areas, all roughly by applying pressure in some areas - there's no sophistication or complexity here.

And these patients... LOL they paid their money, so they're in on it now. Amazing self-convincing to make themselves feel good.

Yes cracking bones all over your entire body is refreshing. And that's about it!!! This will NOT:
-improve your muscle pain
-improve your neck or back pain
-improve this focus-pocus body alignment
-improve your marriage
-fellate

There's no facking 'thinking' involved in this. They're just cracking and that's it.

now i've heard about the first 2, but those last 3...

i might just have to try some of this chirophractery

Meh...chiropractic kept me going for more than 20 years...until I finally did so much damage that my chiropractor told me he couldn't help me any longer...and referred me to a neurosurgeon for treatment.

I, for one, buy into the idea that fucked up spinal alignment can affect the nerves that pass through the small spaces in the spine...and can cause pain. And...that spinal "manipulation" can help with those problems. BUT, some of the things that SOME chiropractors claim can be fixed by chiropractic is just bullshit and quack medicine.

Wish I had your chiropractic but since I don't I'll take any of those narcotics that you don't want.

Jeezus...after I totally FUBAR'D my back, and with the ACL graft surgery, they gave me vicodin/Norco, oxycontin, and Valium by the 5 gallon bucket full...I took what I HAD to take but stopped once I could stand the pain, refilled the scripts for about 2 years...because work comp required me to do so...ended up with a 55 gallon barrel full of the shit. (OK, I exaggerate...slightly, but not by much)

No idea what the "street value" of the accumulation would be...but I could probably retire.

oh wait...I'm ALREADY retired. never mind.

My chiropractor was the sports chiro for the US Olympic Gymnastics, Skating and Track Teams. Also for the Jamaican track team. And currently the sports chiro for Northeastern University sports.

He not only works on my back but IT bands, hips, calves and more.

So yes, Olympic, collegiate and professional athletes use sports chiros b/c they're pure bs.

I had a shoulder/neck issue while I was playing football. Each practice i would manage to hit someone with my shoulder in such a way that the muscles would go limp and my face would go pale from the pain. I went to several specialists and no one could figure out why. I went to a chiropractor who had a theory and went to work. He didn't solve the issue but it went from daily to bi weekly so his BS was significantly better than other doctors

They also wear stupid power bands. Appeal to authority isn't a good argument. Jocks are especially superstitious about things, and it's indulged cause it really doesn't matter as long as they perform.

That said, I've heard good and bad about chiros. I've heard enough bad that I don't want people fucking with my skeleton until it's about the last think I try.

I tried it for my back. They'd adjust, massage, place a very heavy heating pad on my back, put on some mellow music, turn down the lights and leave me be for 30 minutes.

I felt great when I left. But 60 minutes later the pain was back. Never got any long term relief.

Among magnets, copper bracelets, faith healing, homeopathic medicine and chiropractic adjustments, which is the least stupid?

Copper bracelets. Copper's my favorite metal. I used to make them. I should try to hunt one down. Not sure where I saw it last.

I know a lot of people who get pain relief from it.

I also know a dude who got severely injured from it & ended up suing his chiropractor.

It worked for Jacob...

I think it is BS, though, but I know very little about it. I can see it being an extreme version of a massage - makes you feel good in the short term but doesn't fix any underlying problems, which makes them worse. But I guess a massage actually does help for certain problems. People would rather visit a chiropractor twice a week for years than go through surgery.

I disagree.
But it only works when the chiropracter / fysiotherapist examines you first to find out if it helps.
And of course, without the patient doing excercises and correcting posture, there will never be an end to the pain.
The idea is to make you more flexible and remove muscle cramps. This allows for more freedom and better blood circulation in the muscles around the spine and reducing irritation of the tendons.
So next to chiropracting , muscle relaxation massage is very improtant. Chiropracting will not work when the muscle remains cramped causing the vertebra to become locked again.

Brother in law is a Chiropractor. I have him do adjustments when we see each other. About twice a year. I have had great results. The relief is instant and stays for weeks at a time. If I had some serious issue he would have me perform exercises to go along with the adjustments. People seem to not perform the exercises and thus never get long term relief is his complaint.

About 7 years ago I messed up my neck due to twisting and popping it several times a day for years. The entire right side of my body was in pain and felt like it was on fire for a week. Went to the Dr and an x-ray showed two vertebra were twisted in opposite directions and he was going to send me to a neurosurgeon to have them fused into the right spot or something like that. I decided to try a chiro because I really did not want that while still in my 20s. The chrio went over what was going on and went to work. After a week of going every day the pain was gone. Then went twice a week tapering off to once a month and now I have been maybe twice in the last 4 years. I stopped popping my neck immediately and have not had any issues since. I had some scans done last year due to a month long headache and those vertebra are back in the right spot.

I absolutely believe a chiro can help get bones and joints back into the correct place and thus relieving pain. I do not believe they can fix heartburn, graying hair or other not bone related issues.
