You posted in the other thread. Why do you need to repost here in a more childish fashion?

What was the popular vote on the US Constitution by the way? 2/3?

REPOST -- and you knew about it!

the eu constiution was a terrible mess anyways. A constitution should be short and sweet, and hit only the basics, and not be a pile of legislation.

Yes, I know it was an exit poll. Still think yours was redundant and childish.

You going to answer my question about the US constitution?

the us constitution was about founding a country from colonies full of poor and ignorant people. its rather different. the european nations are advanced countries with highly educated publics who deserve to be trusted with such a choice.

 Nice attempt at spinning that but it won't work. The US is now an advanced country too. By your logic we would need to revisit the whole constitutiona and get a 2/3 popular vote. Just admit you don't like Chirac and you oppose him first and come up with arguments later...

you must be joking. i didn't like the constitution regardless of chirac. your logic is flawed. americas constitution was about founding the country itself. not for making a half assed super beaurocracy that shares power with national governments. your effort to make two different things the same by distortion is just pathetic. the eu is detached from the people and undemocratic. either ceed all national power to a federal european superstate, or keep the power of the eu limited as possible to keep the choice with the people.

56% rejection. thats not just barely sqeeking by for something so important that it really should have required a 2/3rds vote from the people to be validated.

Why do you care? What does this have anything to do with the US? You act like it was a victory for this country or something.

The EU will still be around even without this constitution. It just will take some more time to set up a model of what a world government would look like.

i am and have always been a british citizen.

so suck it.

and when a defective idea dies. it is a victory for the people. i may not like the reasons they rejected it or how the french want ot run their own country, but i respect their right to do as such.

Good for you.

What does this have to do with you? The UK was not voting on this, France was.

Or can you not come up with anything that is not childish and retarded?

I am very happy that the French chose to say non to this.

The EU originally was just the common market which was there to simply help trade between the EU countries at the time. But now it has become an extra government which each year takes away more and more laws from Britian and other EU countries, and certainly hasn't benefited Britain in any way.

The EU constitution was only going to make this problem worse.

The constitution will make it much clearer regarding what responsiblities the Eu and the government has. That's one thing great about it. I don't see anything wrong with that, and if the french vote against it it's simply because they're uninformed. I'm praying that the danes aren't.

If that's how the cookie crumbles, I'd be happier if you Euros STFU in the future on issues pertaining to Amerrican politics, namely Presidential elections. Cheers.

The people of the Netherlands have been polled to be against it, too, but I don't remember if their referendum will be binding or not.

Riiight, lets just everyone ignore each countries politics.
Wait, then Iraq wouldn't have been invaded, because the latest excuse i heard was that it was because saddam was a mean dictator.

Officially not, however, the major political parties are following the vote if the outcome is big enough (>30% i believe).
