I view the EU constitution as a huge, completely overloaded monster. A Constitution is supposed to be a simple set of rules which define the playing field for further legislation. Even the youngest citizens should understand their basic rights that should guarenteed by the state. The EU constitution is a long way away from that. It is about 200 Pages of judicial dribble which few understand. Compared to the about 20 Pages of the american constitution or for something more recent, the 40 pages of the German constitution.

I would have voted NON or NEE (or NEIN in my case) aswell and am very glad the frenchies and dutchies are showing Brussels how much sense that pile of dribble they created makes.

To be sure a lot of the EU constitiution makes sense but it is the padding that really frustrates.

What do you expect from a 500 page document that normal people had no say in. This document was by the elites and for the elites. Constitutions are supposed to be simple, not huge volumes of laws and regulations. They are a base for other laws to be built upon.

The EU will still be around even without this constitution. It just will take some more time to set up a model of what a world government would look like.

Surely you are joking. President Clinton called the new world government "The New Way." Between the U.N. and the E.U. this government is being pushed around the world and if it continues it will impact us all.

Even Fidel Castro calls it for what it is. Fascism.

Some actually wonder how it got started in Germany. Now they know. There are some that would actually ask, "why do you care, it doesn't have anything to do with you."

On the other hand, many French voters think that the new constitution gives too much power to corporations and unelected bureaucrats, and voted accordingly.

The voter statistics is also very interesting. Both the communists and the far right (Le Pen's party) voted overwhelmingly (96%!) NON. On the other hand, the moderate left and right voted OUI by a small margin.

So apparently 0roo0roo will celebrate together with the communists and Le Pen, allegedly a virulent anti-semite and racist.

clever. and i'm sure vegetarians and dog lovers celebrate hitler since he was a comrad:p don't play that game you know better. or perhaps not.
